Could possibly benefit from playing in a front 2 with Benteke. Lone striker role isn't for him.

He's still very rusty so I'm hoping his attacking sharpness will improve. It's a relief to see a striker actually closing down, putting some effort in and contributing defensively, but I must say I was confused to see him defending a throw-in level with our six-yard box in the second half when we'd prefer him up with Zaha ready to pounce on the break.

Exactly my point, no strikers instinct.

At that point Ayew was playing left midfield. We rotated Andros, Wilf and Ayew between the wings and the front 2 positions during the second half.

6 games, 4 goals. 3 from Zaha, 1 from Schlupp. And only one of those games was against a top team.

Basically, when Zaha doesn't have the ball, we have no chance to score.

Ayew has done nothing so far. Invisible today.
Townsend has lost a step, and speed was his only skill. He passes like he's blindfolded.
Kouyate has done nothing. No idea what he brings.
JMac and Luka have done nothing. I'm ready to bench one of them.

Offensively, we're hopeless. Nice that we have 7 points, but it's excruciating to watch.

We'll improve as the season goes on like last year. Meyer seems like he's getting up to speed which should make us a bit more fluid. Plus fingers crossed RLC makes a return in January. He took a lot of pressure off of wilf at the back end of last year.

Sorry but we need a decent striker more than Loftus-Cheek. Obv I’ll take him but if it’s between him and some top Spanish striker we could possibly get that we can somehow afford, then that should be our guy

Send benteke to Siberia

Palace buying strikers just never works out! Seems to only be successes when cheap/free/exchange. I currently can't think of many strikers that would be a good fit and affordable/availablr over RLC joining who we know at least will definitely boost our attacking play.

I know that we can't score goals but we looked different gravy when Meyer came on yesterday.
He gave us what had been lacking throughout the game up to that point where central midfield was a wilderness.
Luka is lost without Cabaye and I hope that Meyer is the answer.
We will see but if he starts then the future is a little brighter.
We also need to do our best to get RLC again in January.
We should have won yesterday, didn't, on to Bournemouth!

I’m concerned about the lack of goals in the team. There were plenty of chances created against Newcastle but no finisher.
For all his bad form and terrible record over the last year Benteke still looks the best option which is a worry.
Townsend never looks like scoring and there is too much reliance on Zaha.
It’s a shame Sako didn’t rejoin because he does offer something different, can go past people and score goals.
If we go back to the loan market in January I hope it’s more inspiring than the recent list - Sanogo,Bamford,Adebayor,Doyle,Remy,Ameobi

Not to mention Sørloth in the ‘cash’ market.

We had a brilliant one in Murray. Pardew ruined that.

Agree. When he came on he was for me the best Palace player on the pitch.I really think he should start next game.

Spot on analysis. We did not get the much needed striker in the summer transfer window and it is already proving to very telling in points attained.Tougher opposition awaits as well.
