Mods you may wish to merge this will previous topic. I know it was only twitter but my son saw a tweet that suggested Sadiq Khan was not prepared to sign off the redevelopment due to an issue with housing. So him getting the red carpet treatment and smoke blown up his arse by SP hasn't worked.

In the case of the new stand application approved by Croydon Council, as there are six (4 bedroomed) houses which need to be demolished, CPFC have to therefore provide six brand new (4 bedroomed) houses somewhere in the Borough of Croydon. It is not simply enough for CPFC to buy six existing houses and donate them to the housing department, they have to be brand new houses which haven't already got existing consent to be built. It is not an easy task by any means to find such a piece of land - if it was, a developer would have snapped it up ages ago. Palace are working in partnership with local developers to try and achieve this, but it is no easy feat. It was thought that 6 such houses could be squeezed in between the back of the Holmesdale Stand and the pavement (where the ticket windows and programme room are - after all, all tickets are presold these days and have been for years, and programmes can be sold anywhere, on street corners) But the replacement houses issue is the main sticking point ATM (there are a few other minor points too, some largely financial, but these are easily dealt with)

This is when you realise just how shabby Noades and Jordan's (real name, Katie Price) long-term business plans were. They really put the club at long-term risk for their own short-term gain.

Much as I disliked Simon Jordan, Ray Bloye was the man who really put the club at risk, selling the land to Sainsburys and the club to Noades.

Much as I disliked Simon Jordan, Ray Bloye was the man who really put the club at risk, selling the land to Sainsburys and the club to Noades. i agree about Bloye putting us in the sh#t but i thought uncle Ron sold that to clear debts, outside the current owners,he is the most successful owner we have had,its the old marmite effect you either love him or hate him,I grew to love him because you could have a good row with him and wasnt afraid to argue with fans face to face. I do hope we sort the AW out and rebuild that asap to, that could give us another 7,000 then the whitehorse get the ground back up to 52k Edited by michaelpearce (26 Sep 2018 5.46am)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Stadium plans' by bexleydave Steve Parish has admitted that the start date for work on the redevelopment of the main stand at Crystal Palace's Selhurst Park ground could be pushed back: It had been hoped that work could begin on the new stand at the end of the current season, with likely completion in 2021, to be ready to open for the 2021/22 season. But Palace are currently discussing with the council over the terms of the S106 agreement to fund transport and community improvement initiatives as part of the project. When those details are agreed, the plan will then go the Mayor of London's office for approval, when planning permission will formally be granted, once it has been signed off by the mayor. But the Palace chairman has conceded that the project could be pushed back. "The new main stand, we have got some issues," he said, speaking on the Five Year Plan podcast this week. "Unfortunately these things do tend to slide, but we are on the front foot with it and we are doing our utmost to get the final agreements we need in place to get it done." "We were hoping at the end of this season, but it is drifting away from us slightly," he said.
