This is a strange one but hope there are some medical people who can shed some light.
Do adults with learning disability get dementia.

I understand it can impact everyone. Just some people are more susceptible than others, so it strikes earlier.
People with learning disabilities tend to have shorter lives, but it's not written in stone, and there are many exceptions

Horrible disease.

Yes. Due to the structure of the brain and the reduced amount of neurons to begin with. Increased risk with all neurological conditions, downs syndrome, and previous serious head injuries. Anywhere that had been damaged or gets reduced blood supply. Lots of research into these conditions.
