After a decent start by England to get to 92-2 off 15 overs, the rain I was worried about on this tour is already threatening to wash the first ODI out.

On the way to winning this one.

Such a strong batting line up.

Really professional stuff from England.

Couldn't stand the humidity myself, Sri Lanka such a difficult location.

Get in the dry and hydrated lads, an excellent performance.

Watched the highlights last night.

The match finished at 11:30pm local time, fair play to them getting it on, even though it was restricted to 21 overs. And well done to the crowd for staying around 'till almost the end.

We're making it look like child's play so far.

We have such an embarrassment of riches in the one day squad that it's a great shame that it doesn't transfer to the test match squad.

Don't rest the captain and most in form player, along with the best opening bowler.

If it ain't broke...

Response by England is to post record 219 run defeat against victorious Sri Lanka. At least the rain saved England in their recent wins that led to nailing of the series.

'Saved England'?

England were comfortably ahead in all those games.

Good first day to the test after a poor opening session. The middle to lower order doing the business yet again.

I know that one swallow does not a summer make but Moeen Ali has bowled rather well for an old has been that shouldn't be taken on overseas trips to Asia
