I hope, and I mean I seriously hope, that Steve Parish really will learn from his mistakes of this season, and every season so far in this league.

I hope more than anything that we will conduct our business in the upcoming transfer window in a shrewd, smart, and where possible in a fair way that doesn't leave bad tastes in players/other club's hierarchies mouths.

I pray that we will sign most, if not all of the players that we need before the final 1 hour of the transfer window. Though with the earlier window at least we will benefit from that either way.

I dearly wish that we will back our manager, reward him adequately for the excellent finishing position we will attain, and dont make a fool out of him once again. RH said many, many times that we needed to sign a goalie in January and we fouled it up, making him look a mug. I really hope we dont do that again.

I hope come the first game of next season that RH is still our manager and hasnt decided with 3 days left until the first game that he needs to resign or retire from the game completely, out of the blue as far as the fans can see.

I hope that we dont play silly games on one of our main targets, like we did on Sakho. Using the press to plant stories about not being able to afford the player, and generally playing silly buggers up until the last minute.

I hope we dont repeat any of these dimwitted approaches, that have been the hallmark of how we have operated lately.

Hope SP read this as it is a fair appraisal!

Thanks for reminding me of that one, Den1923.

I think I wrote that at the end of last year.

Its fair to say the last window was an improvement in some regards, in terms of game playing in the press, and not leaving everything to the last minute.

Have we backed the manager though? Is Meyer a player RH was desperately keen to get in the door or is the fact that he has struggled for game time and is now being deployed out of position in the RLC role tell the story.

Transfer budgets have limits, we all know this, but did we do enough with our cash in the last window. Sorloth is one for the future, but we needed (and desperately still do require) a forward who could come in and do a job now.

We did very well in Kouyate (I am starting to think we should sign all our players from West Ham and skip Liverpool in future).

When you boil it all down, we have decent cover now in goal, in defence, and in the defensive perspective in midfield.

We are struggling to get it into the onion bag, and we should all know why by this time. We are seriously light in attacking talent. We dont have enough starters therefore our bench is also totally bereft of game changers. We are not just light 1 or 2, but you could argue 3 or maybe 4 attacking players in terms of strikers and winger types who can take people on and have pace.

RH is not blameless in our scoring woes as sometimes the way we set up can only be described as bizarre, IMHO.

We often say it but this January window could be make or break, depending on how December goes.

I do still believe RH can turn this around, but we must bring players in.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

And yet here we are still in the Prem, never in the clubs history have we been in the top flight for so long and we will be there next season as well. I would say that's pretty established. Although any of the bottom 13 teams could go down, any given season, that's the nature of the league we're in.

Is there plenty to moan about, yes, could we be better, yes but the board own the club.. They own it, it's their's and I for one am very happy, we have the Board we do. Worked out well so far, despite some crap results, we have progressed, up the table more or less year on Year.

You wouldn't find a pundit around that thinks we will go down and neither do I.

Can't wait for the new stand, fingers crossed we can get it done...

What do you want?

will all look very flash in the championship half empty, not to mention the massive loss of income!, if that happens then the board SP et-al will be solely responsible for the biggest loss of earnings in the clubs history!

I get the impression Roy is not directly involved in our transfers. I also get the impression he needs the money and is happy with his salary. He can only do so much with the squad he has and sadly our squad has weakened this season not strengthened. The problem is we had two good loan player go back and Cabaye, one of our best players, disappeared i think for free.
The incoming signings have as expected not materialised and so along with injuries to top players we are once again back in the relegation zone.
At 70 plus Roy is playing a dangerous game with his health. The stress he is under must be big. Managing premier clubs these days is a hands on physically demanding job to say the least. To manage a club with little input on the incoming players is less than ideal. A friend said to me recently Morinho is past it. Say no more.

SP and his remaining original board have had seven exciting years taking CPFC to where we are. Many of you are correctly pointing out our weaknesses that seem to be continuing. Being a full time hands on Chairman is no easy task in the premier, and I believe it is taking its toll on SP. He has done incredibly well in this capacity but it may be time to consider passing the leadership position to a younger professional within the sport. Nowadays there are plenty of proven directors of football to head hunt. If SP stepped back into a non executive board position and stood alongside the other shareholders in supporting a new board, he would possibly be making a very shrewd move. He has had a great run in taking us to this level. I feel the club would really benefit from some fresh blood at the helm to address so many of the outstanding issues so clearly spelt out on here in a new clearer light.

I don't know where you get the idea that Roy needs the money from as I hardly think that is likely

He should’ve handed or watched from afar someone handling football matters at the club, but he probably can’t, or won’t, ever.

Agree with this. If it was done within 10 years I'd be surprised.

But it says on the singing section thread it’ll be ready in 2-3 years, so why don’t the HF wait!?

It’ll happen once the 1924 tin shed is condemned.......years after.

Most of the clubs you list have stable squad management and/or are good candidates for promotion if they do get relegated. We aren’t. If we get relegated it’ll be a complete mystery how we deal with it squad wise, because I bet Parish doesn’t have a clue, and that cluelessness deepens the longer we’re here, although we could fill our squad up with Jach type signings that aren’t even good enough for the championship.

You make a strong and a bit of a rude response about the Americans being rich and experienced in ‘running sports enterprises.’ How have they shown this experience? Show me any instance where we’ve benefited from their input. Name one.For a start, relegation is new to them, and apparently they pushed Parish to sign Benteke and Sakho. And what’s happening with the new stand? Their investment is ringfenced for the new stand and yet nothing is happening, maybe no surprise when we start abysmally every season, and yet we hear rumours it’s years and years away So many years that you or many others may not be spectators any longer.

Please tell me in what way we’re currently being run well or the Americans have been so good for us or we’re in good hands with them.

There are worse owners out there and there are better owners out there, and there are football people who know what they’re doing or are around to ask what the fvck are we doing when our signings don’t fit, we’re signing expensive players, we’re p1ss poor at scouting, we don’t do what we should in August and do it more expensively in January, and the whole time none of it has any joined up thinking. There’s a reason there’s a January panic every year. It’s because it’s managed so badly and Parish surrounds himself with yes men ex players and they won’t challenge Parish because they’re protecting their employment. The last time Freedman challenged Parish was as manager when Freedman’s stock was rising. He doesn’t now. There’s your clue. Pulis and Allardyce challenged Parish, Parish cannot handle that so we end up making error after error.

I suggest we get someone into the club who knows what they’re doing before we sell Zaha by the summer at the latest in whichever division we’re in or we’ll make an even bigger fvck up.

'Most of the clubs you list have stable squad management and/or are good candidates for promotion if they do get relegated. We aren’t'.

I just don't agree with this..It's a bit of a stretch to say that any club is good enough to come straight back up. You would think that club or this club should but there's no guarantee, no matter how well or not a club is run.

'I bet Parish doesn’t have a clue, and that cluelessness deepens the longer.

OK, you would put your money on that I wouldn't. I don't think he's the best business man but I don't know how he conducts his business with any certainty. I do know he's was not born with a silver spoon in his mouth and he now owns one of the top 30 football clubs in the world.

I can see the errors, like anyone. Selling Murray was plain stupid but at the time, many thought that the money we got for was a great deal. I'm not in that camp but I wasn't as upset about it then as I am now he's scoring for weed.

You make a strong and a bit of a rude response about the Americans being rich and experienced in ‘running sports enterprises.’ How have they shown this experience?

I really don't see how you thought this part was a bit rude. I really try to be as civil as I can Rudi. Although you never know what people read into things. However, if you thought it was a bit rude, I apologise, trust me, it's never my intention.

In regards, to how they have shown their experience. I honestly have no clue. I simply don't know what they have done since they have been involved apart from put money into the club. I actually think that there was a change at the club when they came on board and I can't say it was positive but I'm not privy to the meetings they have. The jury's out for me.

and apparently they pushed Parish to sign Benteke and Sakho.

Really, is that true or a rumour? If true, if we paid over the odds and it's down to them but it's their money.. Aside the cost, I'm glad we got them, although, Benteke, Benteke, Benteke.. score some bl00dy goals or you'll have move on. We can't afford a striker that doesn't score.

and yet we hear rumours it’s years and years away So many years that you or many others may not be spectators any longer

I haven't heard those rumours and I really don't like rumours, they're just what they are. The last I heard was that the plan was approved by Croydon council and there was the issue of the affected houses to be sorted. I would hope that we could have something started by 2021 and I hope to still be around and able to support Palace at that time.

Please tell me in what way we’re currently being run well or the Americans have been so good for us or we’re in good hands with them.

I don't think the club is being run as best it could. I do worry about transfers. One mistake we have made is bringing Freedman back into the nest. The most he should get is a ticket to watch a game once in a while after the rubbish he pulled. Also, I just don't see how he's suddenly, this excellent transfer guru.. Parish has spoken about how he loves working with him. I don't get it but I don't know how their relationship is. Maybe there's another reason we sign Polish defenders who have no hope of playing. I'd kick Freedman out just on principle.

The Americans, Jury's out for me but I'm not impressed so far.

I can sum up my position on the board and Parish by saying that I look at our club as a whole. Were still in the Premiership after six seasons and I just can't see us going down. We have a really good team , imho. They're not getting the results and I actually don't think we play as well in these tight games as some think but we are far from rubbish, although I have been heard to mutter that word under my voice this season and last. The new stand would be nice..

Overall... Overall, I am still happy to be an optimistic, if not frustrated Palace supporter.

P.S. Don't get me started again on Pulis and Allardyce. From everything I have read, interviews I have actually seen and words I have actually heard spoken, they are to different situations with the same outcome. Pulis tried to stiff us after using the club but delivered in keeping us up. Sam used the club to restore his ruined reputation and did a great job but this club was never really for him but thanks for the work Sam. Pulis can Foxtrot Oscar.

From hints dropped at the weekend it was Parish that wasn't for him and not the club itself
