No, the point about tone was mine. I made the point to clarify that just because something has been reported doesn't itself say anything about the objectivity of the reporting.

Penge stated that "this is only wrong and newsworthy if Americans or Trump complains about the 3,000 migrants"; I merely provided a couple of prominent examples of news reports that give the lie to that assertion.

Fair enough, you - not Penge - made the point about the objectivity of any news reports but, given the original point made was that there were no news reports, that looked rather like an attempt to shift the terms of the argument with some weasel words.

Ask me about Ronald de Boer.

Not sure where you've been looking, but The Grauniad website has had three stories on this in the last five days.

It was also on the BBC website yesterday, but you must have been distracted looking for other stories that you deemed to be insufficiently newsworthy to complain about on the 'Why is this a BBC top story?' thread!

I log on to the Guardian website every morning and BBC twice a day.

I was specifically talking about Mexican resistance to the migrant caravan. There was nothing on either website's home page.

There actually is a video story on the Guardian about this – but I had to do a search as it was buried. It's why I made the point this particular story about the caravan was not prominent.

What is prominent, though, is the Guardian, BBC and mainstream media like to portray the US – and especially Trump – as nasty, uncaring and racist when they are facing thousands of migrants attempting to illegally cross their border.

Mexico doesn't get anywhere near the same amount of coverage and demonisation plus accusations of racism/xenophobia when their peoples don't want them. Do you know why this is the case?

Of course if you want to avoid answering the question, we could maybe talk about why outlets bury some stories and give huge prominence to others to suit their agenda...

But Trump had complained.....so again that point is dead.

There was no claim made that there were no news reports.

Considering how the Democrats rallied around Hiliary.....and she was operating at a far more sensitive level....any similar treatment by them would be utterly hypocritical.

So, in other words, completely expected.

it is clear that the Mass Media is trying to rally the female vote against Trump.

Other politicians with a dubious relationship to women (in their private lives ) who did not seem to get vilified for it....

Martin Luther King

Gandhi

JFK

and no doubt hundreds of others.

i saw a documentary about the Reverend MLK. Travelling the nation, giving speeches in every town and village. Staying in hotels. He seemed to have as many bedroom conquests as Gengis khan.
