They’ll be selling 5 year season tickets to help the funding. This raises a couple of points.

1. What’s happened to the ringfenced £100 million?

2. Selling off long term season tickets limits transfers in the future and something that 2010 criticised because it’s a slippery slope. Revenue will no doubt increase (although there’s still a loss transfer funds doing this), but it won’t be that great in the championship. There might be fewer losses but there will still be losses.

Well I hope none of this is true otherwise what exactly is the point of the American investors?

As for a 5 year season ticket well how many people can afford it and is it worth it. If we were a big six club you could practically guarantee PL football. At the very least fans should be pushing for a relegation clause. If it's good enough for the players it should be good enough for the club. Go down and you get a refund, I wont be holding my breath though.

The £100m was never actually put into the company so perhaps it was just promised by the shareholders and as to what has happened to it - who knows.

I hope that Parish isn't stupid enough to top up his building fund with advance payments for season tickets as everyone who knows anything about corporate finance knows that you should never pay for major fixed assets with working capital as that's a quick way to the knackers yard

No I am saying why should I pay PL prices if we end up in the championship.

I supported Palace over 50 years so seeing them in the top flight is not the norm for most people of my age.

I guess that's the old argument of more games for your money in the Championship then. Still, know what you mean about not being used to it, give me a wet Saturday in Carlisle than the Emirates any day.

Fair point. You don't like the Emirates? That's a shame I hear its the best library in the world.

Well said Badger. I agree 100% and I think a lot of fans would definitely think very carefully before committing to a long term season ticket. Now if we were currently Championship and the offer was based on the price you pay with the prospect of promotion, then it might be a different matter, so a suitable discount might entice whilst we are PL.

As others have said as well though, it is a slippery slope taking money up front as it doesn't help with future dealings and FFP.

I sincerely hope that the funding of this new stand is not going to be reliant on assistance from the fans, because that is not how I read this proposal when it was announced.

It’s not assistance from the fans is it? They’ll be selling something they can deliver as long as we don’t go out of business. I don’t like the sound of it mind you.

I thought the £100m was what it cost to buy their way into the club?
