A thread of appreciation for this man. From a liability to a commanding keeper who makes great saves too.

Amazing what a bit of competition can do!

He's certainly upped his game this season, another great performance today.

He has always been a good keeper, but now has a good defence in front of him.
The most maligned player unjustifiably in the last 10 years.
De Gea rated one of the worlds best has let in more goals than any Utd keeper for 20 years ay this stage in the season. Reason poor defence in front of him.

well played Wayne.

in the past i was your greatest critic, and i missed Speroni.

today i am your greatest fan. A clean sheet at Old Trafford. Welsh Eagle.

I think this is a good example of a player's confidence affecting their play, last season he was awful (nothing to do with the defence in front of him, though that contributed to us losing games not the quality of his play), nervous, hesitant with his decision making. This season he's a completely different player, best player by far today and he's saved our arse in multiple games.

I'm presuming he's worked his bollocks off for this and I'm really proud of him, realising he needed to up his game and actually doing it is fantastic, shows a lot of strength of character and is a great example for Benteke, if he's watching.

Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot.

He has always been a good keeper and never deserved the overly aggressive, emotive and often downright nasty abuse he got from some quarters last season. Then anyone who stood up for him was 'a Speroni hater,' and thus an enemy of all things Palace

Fair play to some of those people who have come one here admitting perhaps they were wrong. As for the rest....gone a bit quiet haven't you?

WH has certainly upped his game and the signing of Guaita may well be a factor, who has looked solid in the Cup games and is probably showing in training. Unfortunately Tekkers has no such threat and might well be straight into the team in Jan. That's a problem, the signings haven't put this type of pressure on him.

Good point. But many times on break no one in the box ended up with their defence back in position. As for felani sums up these c***s.
