This is also on the BBC 'gossip' column citing the 'Mirror' & the Daily Fail mentions it online. Same news, just re-jigged depending which media outlet it comes from.

I have seen recently that Egbo, at the age of 21, has mainly been playing for Monchengladbach reserves with limited appearances for the first team. Interestingly, if he was still at the club, would it have been him in the 1st team instead of AWB? I think seeing young English players going to the Bundesliga for more game time is a positive but seems to have worked against him on this occasion.

Nonetheless, very happy with the outcome and how well AWB is doing!

I can't see any one coming in for him it's still early days.

He may look very good at times for us but he could be another player that looks great when young and doesn't progress.

If you really watch him he is no where near good enough for big teams and even if they did go for him he would sit on the bench

Agree he is not good enough yet but not to the extent you're making out. Needs to improve his awareness and such and then he'll be a top player.

Like many of you I have over the years witnessed us develop some amazing players such as Sansom and Wright, only to sell them and then see the team fall apart. We need to keep our stars such as AWB and Zaha if we are to survive and ultimately push on.

Love this lad, needs to work on his positioning at times but that will come with experience. See him in the England team within two years, we just need to make sure he's still then playing for Palace.

All the while we're stuck in a s*** stadium we won't ''push on'' imo.
Enjoy any gem that we have for as long as we have them and wish them well when they leave.
Both Wilf and AWB should be looking for Top 6 (should they want a move) to progress their careers. Yeah, it may well mean sitting on the bench at times but ultimately it'll be better in the long run than flogging their chuddies-off week in week out for the glory of what, continually finishing mid-table?
Moving is (generally) what good players do/need to progress.

Sadly I believe there is some truth in these stories despite the disreputable sources and questionable activities of agents.
City seemed determined to achieve world domination which means hoovering up all the best young talent regardless of whether they are currently needed.
They already have Walker (2 and Danilo (27) so are not exactly short in the right back position.
However, Wann Bissaka is an exceptional talent and has a temperament which looks like nothing fazes him and he’s only going to get better.
Having said that he has only played a dozen or so games for the first team and Palace recently gave him a new contract.
As long as he’s happy to continue his development with us I don’t see him leaving any time soon.

You would hope he would look at the Zaha example of leaving too soon and realise that he should take his time. Hopefully the lad has his feet grounded and is getting good advice (from people who aren;t his agent!)

I reckon we will receive bids.

He is at a stage now where he will be expensive but if he keeps getting better it could get off the charts, so clubs will look at him. The potential for this lad is mind boggling. He could be a regular for England for years.

With the need for a striker looming large, can Parish resist some fast cash?

If it meant we could buy a striker who can actually score then I'd sell him. We have lesser but adequate cover at right-back and it's not a position that will get us relegated. There is no escaping the fact that we do not have any capable strikers at the club and it needs fixing.

Of course if we can get a striker in without selling AWB then great but if not he's the one we'd make the most and lose the least (in terms of our overall game) from.

One thing we cannot criticise our board of
directors for doing is selling off our star talent quickly or cheaply. Take Wilf for example didn't SP oppose Pulis who wanted to sell him? Ever since he has done his utmost to keep him at the club.

Pulis left just before Wilf joined. I think Pulis opposed the signing of Wilf whereas Parish (rightly) was determined to re-sign him

Hmm, didn't the club just tie him down to a new contract !!

I would suggest that he will be going nowhere soon. It's not in the clubs or the players interest.

And certainly not for a player that has slated Palace at every opportunity, since he "rejected" us when we were interested.

Clubs tend to tie players down to a longer contract to boost their value. We gave Gayle a new contract then sold him in the next window.

That said I would hope that we don't sell him but I think the question is who are we going to sell to fund squad building? AWB or Zaha.

It's clear we don't have decent money until we have the new stand so someone worth good money will have to go to fund 5 or 6 good quality players coming in.

I agree that the decision to re-sign Zaha was right but I question a chairman overruling a manager on player purchasing.

We've heard over the last few years about Chelsea buying players the manager didn't want. It ends up with a manager playing a way he doesn't want to play or a player playing out of position.

Would I have preferred Pulis to have stayed instead of re-signing Zaha? Of course my view is distorted by what Pulis did and how Zaha has turned out.

I have to admit that at the time I would probably have chosen to keep Pulis baring in mind how our season ended (Crystambul and so on).

We'd have kept Murray, Gayle, Jedi and who knows where we'd be as a team now? I doubt we'd be top 8 but I think we'd have been more stable.

If Pulis did what he did because of Wilf then he's an even bigger arsehole than I thought.
