They always beat us in the 80s usually do in front of about 5000 crowds hopefully a bigger crowd and a victory this time plenty of loud away fans and a loud full holmesdale
walking down the holmesdale road to see the palace aces! |

If my memory serves me well we signed one of my all time favourite players Danny Butterfield from them after he impressed playing against us for them. Our manager then I think was Peter Taylor.

Mention Grimsby and I always seem to remember about 200 of us on the Holmesdale terrace huddling together for warmth behind the goal, as the temperature sank below 0, and usually getting beaten or a dire 0-0 draw. Often on a Tuesday night.

I always liked the away end at Grimsby. It was terracing and covered and we were always loud.

Won 4 out of the last 6 in all competitions following a disappointing start.I think they signed nigh on 13 players in pre-season after finishing 18th out of 24 last season.I think 4 were signed on loan.

Don't waste your time with jealousy. Sometimes your ahead, sometimes your behind, the race is long. But in the end it's only with yourself!! |
