Went in directly from McArthur. Meyer didn't touch it but he did confuse Hart enough that he couldn't get anywhere near it.

Agree.

My opinion from the highlights is that it was a far more creditable goal than the early reports led one to believe. Meyer’s excellent run at the ball - overtaking the defender - meant Hart had no choice but to ‘stand up’ rather than try to cut out the cross. Hence Meyer just failing to connect meant that Hart was stranded. Had Meyer connected, it could well have bulged the net at the near post. This is what happens when a ball is put into the ‘danger area’ with conviction and players get on to it.

Palace since 19 August 1972. Palace 1 (Tony Taylor) Liverpool 1 (Emlyn Hughes)

Good call ! With no main striker our midfield have to make runs into box so Wilf and Andi crosses come shots can increase our scoring chances

Anyone else take a cheeky gamble on putting Meyer into their fantasy team this month ?

After the display against Burnley, I feel he could get some decent points.

That so called 'Area of uncertainty' - and defenders don't like to be running back in such a situation facing their own goal.Credit to Meyer for making that run into the box - Benteke would have been outside the area !

'corridor of uncertainty' is the phrase, I believe.

As were the entire playing staff, the manager, and the ref. You cannot single out Meyer from that **** show.

Yes I totally agree.
Certainly not had the impact many had expected - the jury is out on Meyer.

That said, if he was as good as people expected he wouldn't have come to us on a Free.I don't recall a great clamour for his services.
