Economics MSc mate. And I do tax. I'm just so busy having a decent job and life on my hands not to waste my life on here.

Economics....tough one that.

You always seem to intimate that I'm not doing well because I'm on here quite a lot. I'm doing better than when I was teaching full time actually.

You know, teaching....helping people. Enjoy working in tax do you.

I'm on here a lot because I don't have to work anymore.

I have two grown kids and a grandchild.

Do I care about what DanH thinks...

As a secular society, we have to fight it tooth and nail. There is no virtue in being tolerant to the extent of allowing medieval ideas to pervade our progressive society. LIberals need to deal with that paradox.

I've often heard people say that we're a secular society which is odd given that our head of state is also the head of the CofE.

But of course despite being a bit of a liberal I'm not keen on stonings and all the other stuff you're referring to.

...but that doesn't discount that within that concept the cultural and genetic shades and potentials differ highly.

When is a shade still a shade and when does it become a much bigger difference?

How long is a piece of string?

All humans can be called genetically similar......and to an extent culturally similar.

However, from within those prisms of genetics and cultures the differences between them matter more to some people...and less to others....mind you some of those just lie about it.

Actions speak much louder than words.

But you aren't concerned that Islamic ideas are seeping into our society via immigration?

I suppose the state still feels the need to pander to religion to some degree. That is bonkers of course but appearances are all important to those who control by using illusions and misdirection.

What sort of ideas are seeping in? The ideas that are coming in such as equal rights for women, gays etc are hardly Islamic. If anything, society as a whole is moving away from any religious ideas full stop. And a good thing too in my book.

It has been. However, an increasing number of our 'British' citizens hold beliefs that are the antithesis of progression. Is it OK for them to expand in number and therefore spread these backward ideas?

Not sure how you can't see the inevitable consequences.
