Amen to that.

The license fee is a "regressive tax" because it does not take into account a person's ability to pay. Surprisingly then you would think that people on the left of politics would be against such a system because it lacks fairness.

If the BBC actually gave a s***, they'd only charge 50% of the license fee in respect of half the programmes being repeats!

I take your point, however this “tax” is avoidable by choosing not to use the services that it covers.

They aren't repeats they are "another chance to see"

I remember a few years ago getting annoyed at the large number of "another chance to see" programmes being shown that I suggested sending them the cheque that I paid the previous year's licence with and offering them another chance to see it

Oh that's alright then....Do without a telly because of one TV company.

Most people aren't savvy enough to go through all the hoops that come with proving you don't use those services....I've looked at it....it's not made easy at all.

They know precisely what they are doing.

The BBC?

Well ITV news is breathtaking.
The level of Anti Trump propaganda is astonishing. The identity politics unbridled.

It has become like a far fetched science fiction movie.

People use British Gas because they always have done and watching BBC news is very much the same.

I switched from British gas years ago but from habit continue to watch the news on BBC.

To save me time does anyone watch Sky News and how does that compare to BBC?

I watch it every day on the web as I don't have a telly or a license.

Their choice of participants in their daily "What the papers say" show is illuminating.

But I can't compare it as I don't watch BBC news
