The club has dealt with this very badly and have compounded this at every stage.

Firstly having said No to the HF they should have stuck to this (right or wrong) and not back tracked as this now means all such decisions are reversible.

The club then failed to consult fans about a singing section, Did Season ticket holders want one? If they did how many wanted to be part of it? and then where should it be. In my view it is the size of the demand that determines this position.

The club seems to have decided this based on the demands of the loudest pressure groups.

If the club had carried out the survey and found out the vast majority of fans wanted the singing section, and that 400 people wanted to take part in it then they could have moved forward. People would still had to move but at least then there would be the argument that it was a democratic decision.

As other people have said the current solution carries a very real possibility of that part of ground being closed on safety grounds. This also has a knock on to taking part in safe standing trials (which will be done by individual club risk assessments) CPFC will have to prove that they have managed this in new area whereas in Block B this was essentially proven - most safe standing trials will be in corners. The Club has an active planning application for new stand and this can now be re-opened dues to these changes.

The other point that has been made is compensation and packages for those being moved. The actual detail on these from club seem sketchy at best. The suggestion has been made on here of a free season ticket for next season. How would that be funded? We seem very close to FPP rules so any perceived reduction in income is unlikely to be popular with club.

The whole situation is a mess

Agreed its been handled badly. The suggestion to consult current ST holders before making the move would have confirmed its democratic and the implementation would be far easier. That said, the polls and pressure put on Parish suggest that the majority do want the singing section, so I think in the end the right decision has been made, but done in the wrong way. The HF have handled themselves well and presented the club with progressive and inclusive ideas. I think people are unanimous in agreement that the lower tier reset would have been the fairest solution. The club are at fault for the mess.

Regarding closing part of the ground on safety concerns, is this realistic? Every ground has sections of supporters who persistently stand. If the Holmesdale closes for this reason, the same will happen at all other grounds. No chance.

In respect of the cost for a free season ticket as compensation, we're talking about (400 x £550 approx) £220,000. This is about 11 days of Wilfs salary. Basically a drop in the ocean as far as the club is concerned.

So with the HF back and creating an atmosphere which is clearly welcomed by all the players and encourages them onto victory, will the inevitable upcoming wins at every home game for the rest of the season push Palace into a European place?

HF - The biggest and the best.

Yeh agreed there. Parish has ballsed this up from the get go, but then what do we expect from the man who hired FDB.

The club is run with a total lack of joined up thinking in many, many areas.

Both sides of this debacle have not covered themselves in glory, but putting everything aside, the HF do hold some power over Mr Parish, and they also got lucky with our home form earlier this year. Parish should have thought about it, spoken to the stakeholders and then made a decision and stuck to it - that is what leadership is all about. Instead everyone was kept in the dark, half decisions were made, then reversed....total schoolboy stuff, much like most of our transfer windows.

I hope everyone directly impacted can just move on and put this in the rear view mirror by the time next season comes around.

One thing unites everyone which is we all love this club and we want the most success on the pitch possible.

This thread size must be getting near that legendary one on Wayne Hennessey.

Parish comes from business to business sales and marketing and therefore I don’t think he knows what’s stakeholders means, let alone considering them. This was why I couldn’t believe that dragons den wanted him on.

LOL, Rudi, I had forgotten about that Dragon's Den nonsense. Didnt he agree to go on and then backtrack there!? Sounds familiar.

He is not, never was, and never will be a "football man".

This entire shower of &&&&& could have been averted and handled entirely better and differently. Alas Parish was in charge....and the rest is history.

Regardless of the roundabout way its come about, If Parish didn't think it had massive benefit, it wouldn't be happening.

Parish does not know everything. If he did FdB would not have been handed a contract only to be paid up four games in.

Nobody, including the man himself, has said he does (as far as i'm aware). Yes it appears to be badly orchestrated etc etc etc.........but there's no doubt that ultimately this is a good move for OUR club.

Obviously it is not OUR club anymore - It is the HF's club now.

Don't be sure of that, after all the tragedy where 96 people died happened in just ONE ground but every ground was then made all seaters becuse of it so the precednt has bee set.

Glad our club got in there first, leading the way as it should be.

Expect every other premier league club to do this within the next year

The way its going, we will be the first club in the Championship with a silly singing section. It will totally irrelevant and nobody will be interested.
