My god have thinks got this bad? Are we really suggesting the answer to our issues lies with an aging striker who is well past his prime.

To sign Defoe would just sum us up right now. Another short term stop gap demonstrating we really have no forward planning and no ambition.

Another of our many backward steps

Let’s face it, none of our strikers for whatever reason, have worked out. Moreover let’s not fool ourselves, we are in a relegation battle again. Defoe is a seasoned striker and goal poacher, if anyone could sniff a goal in the penalty area it’s him. Sixty mins of Defoe a week is worth having. If we can ship Ayew out, and get Defoe in, that would be a trade off worth trying in my view.

Yep... Things are this bad... Our sixth season in the Prem and all our strikers are either s***, injured or both!!

I would rather have an ageing Defoe off the bench rather than Sorloth or Ayew!!

Defoe has scored 1 goal since December last year, in 19 appearances.

How many of those 19 appearances have been starting appearances though Willo??... Does coming on for the last 5 minutes count as an 'appearance'??

You cannot deny that like Kevin Phillips players like Defoe don't come along very often where they naturally know where the net is... If he can do a job for 5 months and keep us up then I'm happy because we don't have a great deal else to call on!!

you know what I retired from non league football (I played for Banstead Athletic in the Ryman league if anyone's ever heard of them!) 7 years ago but I still think I'd put in a more positive shift than Sorloth!!

If indeed Defoe has only made a majority of those appearances from the bench then one might question why he hasn't actually started.

send Ayew back get Defoe may not be much different and is not the way forward but he would be better than Sorloth and Ayew put together
