The fact that James Daly is on loan at Kingstonian would indicate that he is not ready for PL football.
He has scored 6 goals in 18 appearances for them.

Possibly not, but....

Palace can lose to every crappy team in the Prem, and then pull out a shocker and grab a point or 3 from top class opposition.

The same is true, sometimes, of young players (AWB is a fine example) who, given the opportunity and the support from senior professionals, can raise their game to the required level, and get a great push up on the learning curve that is football.

Board. Without a shadow of a doubt.

Twitter, message boards and Facebook give the tw@ts a voice. The kind of people you'd ignore in the pub.

Too big a gap. Kingstonian play three divisions below league two. If he was tearing it up maybe. By comparison Ricky Miller won National League Player of the Year two years ago, signed for Peterborough and struggled although he was a fair bit older than James Daly.

Very sad state of affairs which should never have happened.

and easily avoided if we actually made an effort to properly strengthen over the past several windows.

The answer to the question of this blog is that both the manager and the board are always responsible for results.
The board have had numerous opportunities to hire a progressive manager like say Marco Silva and failed to secure this type.
Maybe it’s a question of ambition and belief at board/ chairman level. They clearly haven’t got quite what it takes on this front. I’m also not convinced our USA investors are really on board to go all the way. How active are they in decision making?
As a result we have a team manager who is a solid honest performer, but no top level achievements in this league. At his age it is unlikely now that this will change. So mid table is really as best as we can hope for.
As always we are flirting with relegation and under the current structure i do not see this changing.

Scored at all 4 levels of English football, but I accept he was not that proficient although he didn't do too badly at Bristol C.

Deeming him a "Very good player" is in my humble opinion over-egging the actualite. He is a player known for his workrate and the ability to hold the ball up well.He is currently on the books of Rochdale.

Ok, fair enough, i will drop the "very", but he would have a "very" if he could have scored goals

In some ways the problems we are encountering is shared between boards and the manager, but on the other hand our biggest obstical is the FFP ruling for a club our size. Hodgson has stated that we have a squad of 20-22 players and players within the club that can score goals. This is Hodgson’s downfall he is old school and believes in old values, ok these values may have worked 10-15 years ago, but we can all see that they are not working now. I have read on here that SP has said there is no money for this transfer window, but unbelievely we still have the likes of Jordan Mutch Julian Speroni, Pape Souare and Jonny Williams on our books. You can’t have sentiment in football these days these players should have been released seasons ago. This club has signed players over the last few years the like of Jach Jaroslaw, Jairo Riedewald who seem to make up the numbers in Hodgson squad that haven’t had a chance to prove themselves specially the latter.
Now we come to our so called strikers that Hodgson thinks will score goals. First all Benteke it’s as plain as your nose on your face that he does not play to the system that Hodgson maps out. Personally speaking I think Benteke is a good player and you don’t become a bad player overnight. As for Connor Wickham he has been injury prone all his football career and he is a 100% playing risk. Jordan Ayew he was good at Swansea but again a player that won’t change a game if he comes on. As for Sorloth sorry to say out of his depth in the Premiership.
