If Grimsby didn't agree they would be losing money, because otherwise we'll be looking at an attendance of 6-7,000.

Some of us - like me - is really looking forward to seeing this on our telly, I had the pleasure of wathcing all three league cup matches live - and a chance to see some of the fringe players and the joy of seeing Jonny Williams out there

From the Grimsby Telegraph today (Dec 19):

“The tie has all the ingredients for an upset - the Eagles are struggling, Town are coming into form, and you’d imagine Hodgson would rest most of his big players.
“We’re certainly not ruling out a shock result here!”

"Struggling" - I could understand this sentiment if we were in the relegation zone and cut adrift.
Grimsby know all about struggling - they have lost half of their games in League Two !

So, that means Grimsby will win then.

Anyone remember Hartlepool away many moons ago(I was there)

Well our 1st team did!! Grimsby will be playing our reserve/fringe/coming back from injury team and have every right to fancy their chances in a one off game, that like it or not, we’ll probably care very little about.

Funny how you've got more chance of seeing it if you're 12000 miles away than if you're in the same country.

Another classic on TalkSh!te last night.

Made a specific space to discuss how fundamental to Palace Zaha was.

It went like this.

"Zaha is so important to the team it's like when he gets the ball everyone is on the edge of their seat expecting something to happen. It's just like Rashford at United. United united united Rashford Rashford united united united Mourinho Pogba Rashford Lingard. United united united Rashford Rashford and even Fellaini FFS". And so on for about another five minutes.

BBC no better on the radio. Very disparaging to us, as kept quoting our no score draw with Man Ure as the epitome of their descent, failing to mention the other dire recent results by them.

“ [T]here are known knowns; there are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns; that is to say there are things that, we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns – there are things we do not know we don't know. ”

Playing that day for Hartlepool was Lenny Johnrose who is now sadly suffering with Motor Neurone disease.

Yes well TalkSh!te did that as well. Actually with them in that form you could almost argue that a bore draw was a decent result against a side that had held Arsenal to a draw.

Of course today it's "Pogba Pogba Pogba. United united united Rashford united united Sir Alex said Mourinho united united poor Fellaini united united of course Real Madrid Juventus united united united. Ole Gunnar who? FFS."

And the BBC can't stop showing his goal against Bayern Munich in the 1999 European whatever-it-was Cup Final over and over again. Nowadays Solskjær looks like Bilbo Baggins and about 111 years old. Don't worry. He will be s***.
