I think Labour should spin this as an example of equality. Several Tory MPs have been done for this over the years so its only right that Labour have their chance.

We shall see if she does the decent thing and resigns otherwise it will be a long drawn out affair to sack her as an MP during which no doubt she will claim her salary and expenses (I hope I am wrong about that).

What I do find curious is that this is the second trial as they had a hung jury? Seemed a pretty open and shut case to me.

Good grief this one has slipped under the radar. Who made up that jury?

That is weird. Wrong charge? CPS failure again? Surely could be done for GBH, affray etc.

Did you know? 98.0000001% of people are morons.

Assuming the defendant was suffering from mental illness as he claimed the jury should still have found him guilty. The judge should then have taken that as a mitigating factor into account when sentencing.

Obviously we haven't seen all the evidence the jury did but I am astonished to say the least.

Well as predicted she will not go quietly into the night.

[Link]

We now have to rely on a judge sentencing her to more than 1 year in jail* for her to lose her job.

The other option I believe is for her to face a recall election which means people bothering to sign a petition. Labour want her gone so maybe they can organise this?

*This is a joke I worked for a bank if I spent 1 day in prison I would be sacked yet an MP can keep their job as long as they serve less than 1 year. I bet she keeps her fat MP pension as well.

Would someone please explain to me HTF you can serve as an MP if you're doing porridge?

Academic anyway. Of course this selfish cow is as likely to get put away for a year as Eric Cantona was and for the same reasons.
