Tough, suck it up......If you have a genuine complaint I'm sure the mods will listen to you. I've always found them to be excellent. If you want a more censorious forum, post in a more censorious forum.

You just don’t get it. Still.

People don’t post here because they get abused. The Mods had to create a forum especially for you, Gusset and Hrolf to take the abuse off the rest of the boards. Remember?

Calling me a snowflake is irritating to me. Especially when you know I give at least as good as I get. But what really grinds my gears is how anyone not chock full of testosterone can’t be bothered with all the macho posturing. So we lose any balance or middle ground.

Yeah Maple, it's that I just don't get it isn't it. I mean, how could it be that a reasonable person could fundamentally disagree with you.

If only everyone understood your perspective we'd all agree with you wouldn't we.....I mean, how could we not, your perspective has to be the correct one....no variations have a leg to stand on.

Oh and how I remember it, Gusset was the main reason that forum division was created.

I just love what you have done there.

Succinctly you have reinforced my exact point

I make a general case, you go all ad hominem on me. Abusing people and calling them names is so playground, then you say you can't see the logic in comparing school bullying with online.

I guess it's easy to look down on people when you are 6'2''.

And by the way, all that Budweiser must have affected your memory. The Politics forum was because certain people, mostly the three of you, wouldn't stop perverting every thread. It wasn't just Gusset, it takes two to tango. And a lot of it was about bringing immigration into every damn thread.

Still looking forward to your take on the evils of George Soros. I already know your opinion about Maple.

Not in Croydon

Light showers of abuse followed by gales of derision I would say.

If you don't like an ugly bird then stop going out with her....other birds are available...but the ugly bird still gets to go out and you don't get to stop her.

If the old girl really needs some make up then I'm sure the mods would advise...If they disagree on the amount of make up then tough nipple.....But unless she's disfigured you and the mods agree that you're disfigured, she gets to go out.

Are you disfigured?

I see you learned your philosophy from Eric C*ntona.

We have had the discussion before about two years ago. Mods will intervene for extreme abuse.

Slow, steady drip online abuse flies under the radar.

Anyway, it's about time you bought me a pint. You going to the Grimsby match?

Whether something is over valued or not is neither here nor there. People who make money from the misery of others and make the excuse that, 'well someone else would have' are the same kinds of people that steal cash from church boxes...because...well, eventually someone will do it.

Yes, the market does have to have an element of this...If weakness isn't punished then weakness becomes common.....However, the guy who does it is still an arsehole....and you asked why we don't like him. If all he had done was this, then it would be enough.

However I understand that to a nationalist anything that damages the nation is in some way a crime. Even if it isn't illegal. But I would argue that capitalism is the problem not the capitalists. If the system didn't exist then they couldn't exploit it. (And no I'm not advocating state socialism as the alternative).

No, I'm not quite, 'my nation right or wrong'. Nationalism is a concept like anything non physical. There are lines for everything in life.

Capitalism has been the most successful system we have because it works with human nature and rewards meritocracy...though the downside to that can be the over exploitation of the vulnerable.....Like all systems comprised of humans it's only as good as its regulation and those running the regulation.

The multi-million fund for open borders is an interesting one. Of course he was a refugee. Britain gave him refuge. So I guess some of his altruism in this regard is heartfelt, although I acknowledge that is no compensation to those disagree with it. Saying he advocates open borders isn't really true though. He's a proponent of helping refugees. But of course he's a very clever bloke and I'm sure he'd be the first to admit that by taking in deserving refugees, you encourage the less deserving to try their luck.

A distinction without a difference.....when the bomb is dropped on your house the knowledge that it was a misfired missile from your own side makes no difference to the final outcome.

Without borders you don't have nations...He funds groups with that aim...If you support nations you are anti Soros.

He also spends millions trying to improve the life chances of people in 3rd world countries who are more likely to become refugees. This suggests to me that he's fully aware that stopping the causes of mass migration is the long term solution.

It's your point of view certainly.

America under Trump has given far far more money to Africa than anything Soros could manage yet Trump is very much against mass migration...Giving aid to poorer countries to improve their lives has been going on for many decades...

It's a myth that raising living standards in the third world helps stop the need for migration. The reality is that it enables a larger percentage of people the means to migrate. That's the reality.

As for your far left NGO remark, well that's just your label. I don't see anything far left about the activities of his NGO in Hungary for example.

His Open Society Foundation began working there 5 years before the fall of the one party state. Amongst other things it provided scholarships so Hungarians could attend foreign universities. One recipient, the populist / nationalist / authoritarian / criminal (pick one) prime minister of Hungary Viktor Orban studied political philosophy at Oxford. The facts don't appear to support your claim that Soros has a far left agenda. He is anti-authoritarianism and pro-democracy and I think his track record speaks for itself.

I'm unaware of him censoring conservatives. Perhaps you would enlighten me?

Edited by steve1984 (23 Dec 2018 12.55pm)

I would describe myself as anti-authoritarianism and pro democracy....I wouldn't describe Soros as that.....if he's pro democracy why does he support a second referdumn when Brexit hasn't even happened.

As for his support of censoring conservatives, he has been named as the main backer behind 'Data&Society' which recently released a report calling for the deplatforming and defunding of conservative voices on Youtube and labeling plenty of them as radical and extreme......I suppose you'll be quick to criticise her usage of labels here.

[Link]

Silcon Valley has recently been deplatforming and defunding conservatives like it's gravy on chips.
