I doubt we will buy a striker in Jan. Wickham will only get better with game time. Benteke can’t be far away either. So before long we will have 4 competing strikers for 1 place (please put aside the fact that they may not be any good).
So based on that someone will have to exit to allow one in.

Sorloth has to be loaned out. Presumably Roy doesnt want to play him, perhaps a stint in the Championship will help.

As we are all aware, we cannot rely on Wickham because of his injury woes and he could break down at any time.Even when Benteke is fully fit, it could take him time to get match fit and start firing again as he did in his first season.

Can one imagine the furore if Wickham is out for a prolonged period and Benteke returns but is as ineffective as he has been and we haven't brought in a striker ? Parish and Hodgson will need to don tin helmets and tighten the straps.

Another well taken goal by Maupay for Brentford yesterday. Plays just up the road, so will be instantly settled off the pitch, top scorer in the Champs, in form, what is not to like ? Send Sorloth the other way.

It would be absurd to rely upon Wickham and Benteke given their track records with us. Sorloth and Ayew should go immediately. We need some quality reinforcements early in Jan then we'll have the best part of a month to see how things go before loaning out what we don't need ... that's if anyone else will take them on?

Out of all the strikers I read we are linked with I really think Maupay is worth a punt. Certainly knows were the goal is and scores all kinds of goals. Has a bit of attitude about him and puts himself about. He also has a good record of assists.

He's a diminutive striker though and I think Palace is looking for someone with Benteke, Sorloth's or Wickham's qualities, only better finisher.

I agree but if I held the purse strings I would work on the basis that we originally employed Benteke and Wickham because they were good forward players. To assume because of injury they cannot be good forward players again is rather foolish. I would work on the basis that one or both will come good and would take out insurance with a 6 months loan player. However we should all never forget that players that are @vailable for sale or loan are the players that are considered not good enough to play for the clubs they are at or they would not be @vailable.

Except if they come from one of the clubs that like to buy up all the talent whether they can get in the first team or not with Loftus-Cheek's loan last year being a good example

Good point but my thoughts would be to send Ayew back to the Swans and use Sorloth if possible in some kind of deal. Get another similar striker like Tekkers, who is more than likely to get the strikers boots when he returns from injury. Who knows even the Little and Large combo maybe the key ?

That I fully accept but some of the forwards mentioned like Niasse and Defoe cannot get into the the teams that they play for which are not any better than us. I accept the likes of Solankie could be acceptable but bare in mind his lack of experience. Difficult to select the right player but easier to identify the need.

I get what you are saying, but we have been without both for quite some time and are 7 points clear of relegation. Parish will look at it the same way. I can't see anyone taking Sorloth off our hands, but I would be delighted to see him drop a level to get game time and hopefully score a few goals to get his confidence back. Oh how we would like some made bid from China for Benteke.
