Just listening to Radio 5 at the moment where Steve Parish is guest.
Main points so far are that
- Wilf is ‘1,000 per cent commited to Palace’ at the moment
- slight disappointment that season has not gone better and it’s obvious where the problem has been (scoring goals)
- this is something that will be addressed in January with hopefully the addition of one or two players.
He also mentioned that Benteke and Wickham were coming back but no mention of Ayew or Sorloth.
All this makes me think the latter 2 could leave and players such as Solanke coming in as has been widely reported.

Roy’s definitely preparing himself for the worst ala last January!! The fact that wickham keeps getting mentioned and benteke coming back as well means he’s preparing us for the fact we won’t be signing a striker.
Accept it, then at the end of January you won’t be disappointed

How wonderful it would be for SP and Freedman to have clearly identified the two players we need and complete the signings early, for once ,rather than at the last minute.

Whoever we sign (if) will be a player that another club wants to offload. More concerning is how this/these players would be used and in what sort of tactical system. Hodgson is fixated on 4-4-2, so what is it to be?

If they're coming from big clubs with big squads there's no reason to suppose that the players will necessarily be muppets. Loftus-Cheek a case in point.

RLC came on loan and was actually out injured for a lot of last season. Clearly we can't go splashing out £30m on a couple of players, so what do we do? Loan again? Look at Ayew, he's s***e!

I'd say it's the "hopefully" that makes the "addressing" somewhat equivocal.

I would assume the board does exactly that (actually before then if you think about Guaita!) but they can't make a move until the next window opens. And then it's a matter of negotiation - which always requires patience.

Rubbish, Its perfectly legal and above board to negotiiate with a club and a player outside of the transfer window. In some circumstances its even possisible to draw up a pre contract agreement with both so that the deal is done the minute the window opens.
It is extremely naive to think everyone just watches the clock while scanning their Panini albums until the window opens

Doesn't he have a muscle problem at the moment ? If so at least he can get some treatment right away.
