OK get it now the French make their country a horrible place for migrants so that's why they all want to come to racist UK.

Maybe they can speak English and not French?

I have prepared one of my own time capsules. I have placed some rather large samples of dynamite, gunpowder and nitroglycerin. My time capsule is set to go off in the year 3000. It will show them what we are really like.

Perhaps we should have thought for carefully about our dodgy foreign policy and stopped making the countries these people are fleeing from war zones.

Perhaps we can decide our own foreign policy and decide on who we let into our country too.

Shocking alarmist thoughts.

There was a ‘migrant-support-campaigner-type lady’ speaking on the BBC this morning. She said that Calais is a pretty horrible place for these people ergo it’s not surprising that they are desperate to get across to the UK.

That’s Calais, in France; a member of the EU.

Guess she's never been to Dover then!

Somehow I doubt that language fluency is why they are crossing the channel on unsafe means.

Once a refugee passes through a safe haven, they are surely an economic migrant.

I don't if you want to live and work I would think it's crucial.

They can't legally work here. If they learnt English....which I doubt....then they can learn French or choose from any number of countries they went through.....though they are meant to stop at the first safe one.

On that logic every single inhabitant of an 'unsafe' country has a right to be here.

Indeed. Obvious to all except the terminally blinkered.

As for 'concept of the future', that's a nonsense construction, as there's no way to know what the future will bring. Are you sure your TV set won't break down in 2019 or that Palace won't go down? Exactly, you can't be sure. So claiming you're in possession of some greater truth regarding geopolitics and culture and migration is just nonsense. Take a break from listening to Nigel on LBC, it will do you good.

Peace mate and up the Palace!

Yeah i'd want my kids to live in a world of tolerance and harmony not hatred

I think that ship sailed long ago, lovey (if you’ll pardon the nautical pun).

Please explain your Churchill analogy. Are you saying that Winston Churchill should have allowed a whole load of German migrants into the UK in 1940?
