Won't happen but can't anyway as he will be excluded from their lineup as usual condition of a loan.

I didn't mean he would be playing against us.

If he scores for Terriers against their opponents, not us.

Another example of Steve Parish's PR overdrive protecting the poorer elements of the club through undeserved fan sympathy.

He's never been one of my own: his performances since the back end of Pardew's reign (another one built up as being one of our own) have been shocking. He's also given weight to the rumours of him being handy at home by taking his belt to someone at 2am in a nightclub the weekend of a match.

Overall, not a captain, not the best representative of Palace and certainly not worthy of the esteem granted by SP's PR spin.

Hopefully he can help Thuggersfield side/back pass their way to the championship.

Reading between the lines, you have never been a fan of his, never cheered any of his goals of which he has scored some key ones?

He’s out of contract after his loan, so why would he return?

It would require Huddersfield massively to improve their form for the rest of the season. Also if they are to achieve what you claim is possible they would have to beat the teams already around us, and beat us without Puncheon.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

The problem with reading between the lines is that what you read is your own guess work, predicated on nothing.

There was a time when I thought he was playing so well for us that he deserved a national call up. That was a long time ago now, on on reflection was based on maybe 25-30 games.

Whether it was age, Pardew or just enevitable he's not been good for a very, very long time.

It will take a lot more than Puncheon to get the cloggers out of the mess they're in.

Yes, isn't that obvious? It would potentially allow them to take points off relegation rivals. If Huddersfield manage to overtake us from where they are now, we will deserve to go down.

Please look at it this way. In their games against the other 5 teams below us Huddersfield have picked up 5 points this season, or 1 point per game. Let's say that Puncheon's presence brings about an improvement to 8 points from the return matches against those 5 teams - say 2 wins, 2 draws, 1 defeat (sounds highly unlikely, but just for argument's sake). That would obviously produce an extra 3 points for Huddersfield, and at the same time deprive the other strugglers of 3 points, shared amongst the 5 of them. I can't see that having a significant effect on our survival chances. But I suppose anything's possible.

Johnny Williams has gone as well - to Charlton.

That's precisely the point I was making to Steeleye.

He hasn’t been good for a long time, but he hasn’t made it into the first team and been out of favour. That a side, he has had plenty of good games for Palace in the past, and was more often than not the first name on the team sheet.

The rumour stuff outside of football I am not interested in, I think we knew a long time ago footballers are not angels.

Agree with those with more positive memories. He had some periods of time in great form with the club. Hard to say if he can get back to decent form considering his current confidence and recent injury, but I am still sorry to see him go.

Turning point IMO was when Cabaye came in. Up until then he was getting better and better, deadly corners and pin-point passes. Was getting bolder with free-kicks too, had some goals just as Cabaye was arriving. Then of course Cabaye was taking lots of free-kicks and corners instead. Punch never quite got back to his stride.

AND his exit is gonna spoil Pro Evolution Soccer for gamers who like to play as Palace, as sometimes he is the only reasonable alternative on the bench! So, y'know, that is a very serious matter, sure everyone can see that... SERIOUS... Palace should have contemplated keeping him for that reason alone.
