Strongly suspect Gent will not pay him all his wages which is kind of what you suggest. And if the club does not want to write him off, then why loan him to a low level league with nowhere near the same physicality or intensity as the PL. Originally posted by YT

Does anyone know if Jess Thorup is any relation to Borge Thorup who some old - timers may remember played for Palace all those years ago?

I don’t know what the standard of the league is in Belgium but if it’s similar to our League 1 then he’ll probably do ok.
