Bitcoin's been here before bud, with worse losses, so par for the course tbh.
It's still here. It's still worth around 4k (US) and is not, despite the very best efforts of the global establishment, going away.

Still a good time to buy

Well then, are we double or quits-ing rollover or are you ponying up?

A quick re-visit while i'm here...........

Long before this thread appeared I urged everyone here to buy cryptos, this time 2yrs ago, Jan 2017. Few (if any) took an interest tbh.
At the time Bitcoin was around $900 and Litecoin was around $4.
For the sake of 'round-figures', Bitcoin rose to $20k (20x) and Litecoin to $400 (100x) during this time.
They currently trade at 4x and 10x respectively. Maybe, along with many, you're a tad pissed off that you didn't enjoy Litecoin going 100fold? A little £100 'gamble' would've returned how much?
This market isn't going away and again i urge people to take an interest.

Still a good time to buy.

didn't they all drop massively last year and there was talk of the bubble bursting and people losing loads? Or is it a bit like gold - there are ups and downs but over time (lots of time) they follow a general upward trajectory?

Where does one buy these things from anyway?

Sorry just jumping in this thread and was hoping to hear people's thoughts. Got a friend who invests in crypto and he's saying Bitcoin is dead and ripple xrp is the one to invest in. Just wandering what people's thoughts on this and what someone who knows what they're talking about reckons the one to invest in is ?

Yeah, Bitcoin is similar to gold as both have rarity therefore both are deflationary. Fiat currencies (our pound/the dollar/the euro etc) on the other hand have no rarity as they are printed from thin-air at will and are backed by, other than the word of those who gain from printing the muck, nothing.
The more they print the more the existing currency devalues, ie inflation (the original term for the increase in money supply). Inflation is nothing more than the currency being worth less therefore more is needed to acquire, and not, as many believe, a rise in prices. A big difference..........along with a bigger change in mindset for the majority.
Govts love Gold. Bankers love Gold. They'll never tell you that though as they make no money from it.

Crypto currency is a chance for ALL OF US to be our own banker via the blockchain. Maths doesn't lie (bankers do), will never exceed it's worth (bankers do) or ever need a bail-in (bankers do).
It's a no-brainer.........but those in power are putting up the fight of their lives to protect what they have.
Sadly the public don't get it, but considering most have a phone glued to their face then why would they. Oh well

1. Bitcoin is doing fine.
2. XRP is the bankers coin.........those very same bankers that screw each and everyone of us every single day.

The choice is simple. Invest in those who've robbed your parents through inflation and will happily continue to rob their offspring............or invest in something else.

You choose.

Exactly, the ones who're so powerful they can create wars in countries. I can't see how they're going to be taken down by a currency not backed by them. The safe bet seems to be investing in one backed by the banks why would you take the banks on ?

It's people, not currency, that will ultimately take them down.
As more people begin to understand that they can be their own banker the better off the world will be. Nobody chose the banking system that we've all suffered for the past 100 yrs or so, it was forced upon us all and tbf most just suck it up as the norm through nothing more than ignorance (small 'i').

As with many things this'll be a slow transition but don't think that it's going away.

Still a good..............
