No.

We are building a big new stand and like other clubs who claim to have 'ringfenced' the funds, we now won't spend much on players until the full costs of the project are known.

I suspect the club is being prepared for sale but getting rid of players who are deemed to be surplus is never a bad thing.
We need a quality squad who are all of first eleven standards.

Think we are risking it without getting anyone in. Out two centre forwards do not appear to be match fit and are both injury prone. Lose them and say Wilf or Andros you really wonder where the supply will come from.

Getting rid of the deadwood is good, but you do need a functioning squad. We are just two/three injuries away from a severe lack of options.

We are only 3 points of the relegation zone.

Sako was actually becoming very liked, scored some beauties ...really really should have kept him.

Our club does not need to waste any more money, that is all it is, we are a mid table team ..people need to understand and get over it.

Unfortunately his performances were directly related to the proximity of the end of his contract. It was sort of spooky the way he pulled his finger out when he knew his contract was coming to an end. I might be doing him a dis-service in saying that however I'm not the first to have picked up on it. He was also advised very poorly and his agent caused him to lose out on a renewed contract at reduced terms.

No, SP said he borrowed from future budgets to bring in Sakho and big ben so he now has to take it easy.

You know sometimes Hrolf I agree with everything you say.

Also, the recent article that puts us 2nd on position achieved v cost of players suggests we may be doing something right.

That and the broken leg and other injuries.

Happy to go back to the Championship - Saturday afternoon football, no tourist fans, academy players coming through, no s*** refs with big team bias and we will start playing football again instead of defending deep and hoping to nick one on the break. We have scored more goals at the Etihad and Anfield than we have at home all season. Looks like Parish agrees that we will be better off out of the Prem.

'Lack of ambition'

In the last couple of years we've kept Wilf with a hefty new contract (twice) and shelled out huge money for Benteke and Sakho, and I think that says more about our ambition.

This is recognition that we don't need to keep players like Lee, Mutch, Sako or Puncheon on our payroll. They are beneath the level we require, so we are right to get rid of them. The clearout has been long overdue, and it probably just looks odd because it's happening all at once.

Employee of the month is a good example of how someone can be both a winner and a loser at the same time.

Again the facts don’t back you up. Over the last 5 years our spend per point is the lowest bar Spurs and we are still in the Premier.
You maybe aware the scouting network was revamped after last Jan.

Pretty sure we’ll be parting ways with Roy in the summer and the clearance of dead wood and freeing up wages is an attempt to make sure our next guy has a decent wedge to push on to the next level, reckon Wilf will be staying another season whether he likes it or not due to that contract extension...
It makes business and logical sense, at his age this is probably Roy’s last year or two and he’s not a manager to take us forward into the future. We have enough in the squad to make it through a relegation battle with just a striker loan signing and benteke coming back ....

Roy’s done us well, but I see parish as calling this year a write off, which it is, and planning for the future.

I hope we stay up to spite you. Cynicism is a hell of a drug.
