Incredible. How an earth does a person with that outlook on eggs ever get a job as a cafe chef? If it was an accident it can be forgiven but this is just madness. I presume/hope you never returned?

The thing is I knew he didn't do it with a plated breakfast. Lovely cooked soft egg, runny yolk, none of that in a ring malarky.

First time I ordered a sandwich he chops it up and flips it over! I just put him right and he hasn't made that mistake again. I think I saved the place with that advice in all honesty.

Optimistic as ever

Kids, tired of being bothered by your pesky parents?
Then leave home, get a job & pay your own bills, while you still know everything.

I like a chop with my breakfast but I think that's taking it a bit too far.

It's a good point of which I hadn't considered. To me however, I enjoy the feeling of being in a cafe with the smell of bacon in the air. This is something you'll miss out on by taking it away.

Coincidentally, I ate in Breakfast Club this morning, in Spitalfields, and to be frank I was rather disappointed with my sausage, egg and cheese sandwich (served with a red onion chutney). The egg was over cooked, so no running yolk, and I would have preferred the sausage more cooked. There was also an uneven spread of ingredients with the sausage density too think in the middle and the cheese all on one side. On reflection, should have gone for the Huevo Rancheros. It's a learning curve.

I won't let today's experience put me off Breakfast Club as we have shared many good times together in Croydon. I was sad to see that they have removed the steak, egg and cheese ciabatta from the breakfast menu. Hopefully this is just in Spitalfields and not Croydon as well.

Haven't had the sandwich, usually go for the full monty, they obviously had you down as a messy eater, but feel your pain.

Hi guys! Thanks to all of you for your recommendations. Didnīt want to ignite a discussion about different tastes .Just need a healthy underlay in the stomach for the following pre-match visits of The Holmesdale, Two Brewers and the Clifton Arms on match-day (where I will switch into liquid nutrition-mode). Usually I get brekfast in the Premier Inn but this time itīs not included. Anyhow, if anyone comes to Vienna, leave me a note so i can pay back by providing some recommendations for nice wine-inns! Tks to all of you and hoping that I wonīt get "fed-up" first time in the afternoon on match-day ...... COYP, Hannes.

This story rings a bell ....! Could it be that we exchanged a few words before Southampton, Arsenal or Arsenal @home at the Two Brewers this season? Somebody told me there that he had been working in Vienna .....

I'd have bored you with my appreciation of Zwickl if it was me.

Not at all. If it was you you maybe confused my lacking understanding of English with boredom ..... Anyhow, I have a slight remeberance of someone who told me that he had been working in Vienna for a year or so. And I think it was at the "Two Brewers".

Have decided to disgrace myself. While OP was looking for breakfast after a Croydon overnight stay, for those not needing to work before a mid-week evening match, there are many lunchtime options from Hooters (near Asda not after 12:30) through IKEA to Wetherspoons.

I believe that Fatboys (Blowout) and watching Palace the same day are mutually exclusive.

I must try the Breakfast Club.

COYP
