Has proved himself to be a good finisher but hasn't got that extra burst of pace so is not one to run away from defenders.Good positional sense and movement and the ability to stay calm when a chance presents itself.But of course he has had his injury woes. We are looking for strikers and our relegation rivals Southampton have sold Gabbiadini and are now looking to offload Austin. Edited by Willo (26 Jan 2019 11.14am)

Are we in a financial position to pay the transfer fee, pay high wages on a player with ever decreasing resale value? No. So I can't see us being interested.

I would love us to have Austin but his wages are very big indeed. Doubt this will happen but hope I'm wrong.

Southampton are letting him go. Letting him go is a simplified way of saying it. I'm sure he'd cost more than 10 million. Not one for the future at his age as those 10 million would never be recouped. His wages are also big. Would not be my first option over a young 21-24 year old player like Aaron Leya Iseka or Habib Diallo or MOussa Kone who would cost up to 5 million and be on my lower wages, but Austin is not a horrible center forward overall.
