It does all sound rather like the Padovano signing many years ago: a top but ageing Italian forward coming to us, then failing through injury & being past his best. This time we have Roy in charge however, and I trust his judgement on all football matters.

Perhaps he doesn't like being side-lined?

Stick him in the first team week after week, let him rediscover his mojo, and then we will see how useless he is.

As said by others, Roy + Doug have something of a track record for spotting exactly what is required for the right price; and Roy for enabling players to dig down and find what made them great in the first place.

Eder has precisley what is currently lacking in our side. The only issue is his age and apparent indifference to a UK move [if that is genuine??].

Doesn’t matter who we sign Roy won’t start them anyway. He’d probably stick with Ayew over Whoever we brought in!
