Every chance he’ll get a 3 match ban after that behaviour. Might be for the best as he’s not been in great form anyway but how can you drop the great Wilf?
My brother is a Spurs fan and says we can have Pochettino. Sounds good to me! Can we also have Son and Eriksen and send Wilf to Spurs please?

The difference being that refs are much more likely to reach for their whistle when its Eden.

I counted at least 6 blantant fouls on Wilf alone today that went unpunished, not including the constant kicking and shoving. The one on the edge of the box where the ref gave a corner being the worst, and that does not include the one on Andros that could have ended his career, or the forearm smash into Tompkins face that should have been a penalty.

I can well understand wilf's frustration and anger, and yes he should control it, but can someone please give me another example in their lifetime where a ref gave a second yellow immediately after the first because he got applauded by the guy that did it ?

I have seen tons of plays do exactly what Wilf did and the worst ive seen is a stern talking to.

Its just not possible that the ref missed all of these, it is my opinion he does not like Palace and does not like Wilf, and he cannot ref a game unbiased.

About time the FA (F*** ALL) started to take a good look at there Ref's Mariner was sh*t*. Wilf needs a break and more protection just because you have talent it doesn't mean everyone can kick the sh*t out of you every week and get away with it because of the pundits bias opinions and crap refs. If you don't believe it you get on the pitch and get the sh*t kicked out of yourself every week and see how you enjoy it even if you earn well.

Tonight was especially dire from southampton, If Hazard was playing there tonight I'm sure they would have provoked something from him by the 87th minute, it was actually as disgusting as that ref's performance.

Wilf was as much wound up by the ref's performance during the whole evening as he was by being fouled and seeing his team mates being fouled ..ref booked two of their players! bleeding two!

Moneys on three match ban

Sell him - move him on, times up Wilf
And fine him two weeks wages..
yes ref missed fouls on him, but Im sick of his tantrums and moaning, our team is exiting for a few seconds when he gets the ball but then..........

Next game ... and then who knows, given his continued mocking of the ref after getting the red. It was a foul, true ... but what a dumbass.

Stephens should've been off, too, in the first half for the studs-up assault on Townsend. Not even a yellow.

Yes, something really should be done with Mariner.

Its been coming and to some degree I thinks hes wanted it, sadly!! Hes a time bomb, even our captains had enough trying to calm him down!!
I was critical of his poor attitude against Spurs!
Lets take the money for Wilf, then try to be wise and build better team

My take...

Wilf and managers have publicly come out and stated he doesn't get any protection. The stats are all for us to see that he is one of the top two players to be fouled.
Deeney has come out and said they took turns.

It's no secret, there is not much more left to say.

However, to some, wilf has an attitude problem, he 'failed' at utd, didn't try 'hard' at cardiff and back in his comfort zone at palace where he is the highest earner, back with his pals and in flash cars.

His England stint was a mixed bag and he either gave up and went to IC or he was ignored, so went IC.

So already, there are some opinions of him - rightly or wrong.

So when teams want to get three points off us, to either win a league, stay in a league, they know this is a good tactic 'wind up wilf, disrupt him'.

If he cannot see this, if he cannot bite his lip on 120k, if he cannot just let his football do the talking and realise it's all part of the opposition trying to 'beat' him/us then he will never make it in the big teams.

I appreciate it's hard, but we all face demons, obstacles and challenge and we are told to persevere - he needs to look at Beckham post 98, he was hated by everyone... the press loved to hate him... he turned it around, can wilf?

I say no and i say cash in on him whilst we can, it's almost on the verge of being a distraction - get 50 mil, spend that on two new attacking midfielders - think of how much AT cost us... get two more of him in our team... job done.

This was once a quality forum....

Jury will be out oh Wilf now. All very well saying sell him. Many of us have paid good money to watch him. He is one of our most exciting players ever. Don’t let something like this lose him. The guy is a special very rare talent. His skills make a massive difference to fans customer experience at games. Whenever Wilf gets theball at his feet it is like getting a fix of adrenalin.
We are all involved in a sport where the PC world has taken over and tonight’s game was a classic example of that. Let Zaha get smashed time and again and other Palace players. Then let Ward Prowse take the *iss (whoops pc boys won’t like this word so I’ve changed it). Then watch Zaha lose his cool and let the pathetic PC world take over. Easy way out is blame Wilf, sell Wilf, buy 2 new better players with the money ( yeah right!,) ban Wilf maybe for more than one game just to let us all know that being well behaved is far more important than being talented.
Petulance is a huge crime in football. Hazard is the world master at controlling himself. Wilf is not. Wilf has attitude and I am100% with him. I’m so fed up with refs constantly failing to follow the rules. These PC officials are going to destroy the game if we let the current way continue. It notgood enough. Let a talent get niggled, taunted and smashed all game. Wait for him to blow his fuse and then send him off. Well I And many others have paid good money to watch him.so I am being penalised for this situation.
The FA and football needs to take a long hard look at this. He will get an automatic one match ban. What happens beyond that will determine the future of our beloved sport. If the FA give him more then they are condoning the end of super talent and saying don’t express yourself, we want nice polite boring players. They will be killing the game.
Defend Wilf to the hilt guys. This is a big thing. At the very least he needs every Palace fan out there to be with him. Yes he was petulant but for a reason. He broke. So did I. And so do so many of you in the stands every time he gets chopped down. It’s killing the game.
Time to address this. Defend talent at all costs. Without it the game will lose one of its most exciting aspects.

Won’t defend Zaha here however this was a somewhat unique game.

The ref bottled the Stephens tackle on Andros that should have been straight red. Bednareks tackle on Wilf was an orange card at worst and Wilf barely complained, which I noticed.

Ward Prowse is an annoying little rat of a player and he got to Wilf, then fouled him, the ref once again bottled it and their little rat was able to wind Wilf up even more and you saw the rest.

Wilf has to stop this though as he may as well walk around with a bullseye on his shirt.

Agreed. Ward Prowse knew exactly what he was doing, goading him having escaped the foul. Is provocation of another player a bookable offence? He baited the trap and Wilf naively took his hand off. Not defending him at all. He should rise above it but some days it must be hard.

Yes Wilf took the bait , but you know what he got battered this game and as already mentioned Mariner could of booked or sent off half the SFC team in the second half.

Amd Roy Ffs You take off CK for Schlupp , they score , we have JA achieving nothing all game but leave him on when we need a target man up from to take the pressure off.

For the love of Christ sort the substitutions out , 3 points thrown away again.

On a positive spin Wilf gets a rest mid season.
