Well happy with the window. A keeper, for the future. Sako who I assumed was cheap cover for all of the forward positions, until Tge late signing last night.
Batshuayi signing is exciting, could be great or could be average I don’t know, but nice to have someone With the chance of scoring goals.
Strange though that yesterday we had Ayew (Roy’s starter), Wickham (people pinning their hopes on) , Benteke (hoping he will return from injury as the player we signed), Sako (looking forward to seeing a striker that actually shoot) and now the new fella ( who was surely brought in to start considering his wages )
2 of the above won’t even make the bench. Few sideways glances in training today.
Would be a great stop gap if we get Cabaye on loan.
The weak positions of the squad filled with very little outlay , few permanents in the summer hopefully.
A decent window. Nice one Zpalace.

Great signing...feel for Wickham cos he won’t get a look in now...just gotta hope our inept manager plays this right..picks the right team to utilise bats abilities...somehow think he won’t...here’s hoping

" Our inapt manager" FFS. apart from Coppel and maybe Bert Head, please name me a better one,

Well done Mr Parish and Mr Freeman. Cover keeper and 2 new striking options in Batshuayi and Sako, got rid of some deadwood from the squad.

Some will still complain as we didn’t sign Messi or Ronaldo.

I agree with this

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

As long as we got the deal sheet in theres still a chance we could announce one or both today

Fully agree with those who think we have done solid business in this window.

It is now obvious, with this window being so devoid of activity that clubs are wising up to the fact that this is not the window to make big signings. Think it is only a few years ago when clubs at the bottom felt pressured into having to make big money gambles in the hope that the new signing will propel them them to Premier survival, Cardiff with that Cornelius guy, Fulham with Kostas Mik....er summit.

It so very rarely works, and in fact does show just how well we have done out of the window in the season we bought in Luca, PVA and Schlupp, they all came in, hit the ground running and have had a lasting impact on the club.

The Sako one is an odd signing, and many saying why didn't we just offer him the money etc in the summer but I believe it will be due to the FFP. We didn't have the capacity to keep him on without getting some off the books to release wages funds. It has been a successful clear out of players who are not really going to have any impact of the squad, no matter how much we may like them (Johniesta, Kaikai) but by releasing them we have given ourselves the capacity to bring in Michy and Sako.

jury is a bit out on Michy, could be an inspired signing or a complete flop. But we have got him in such a way we can afford to take the gamble.

I think RH must be wondering what is going to happen next.

At transfer windows he gets a few in who he doesn't want or need, usually shipped out later.

What does he do with 4 goalkeepers ??

At the death, with no prospect of a striker, suddenly Parish delivers.

Must have been close.....

I think its obvious Roy is fairly bemused with our recruitment. Again less than motivating comments about Perri, basically saying he didnt want nor ask for him. I may be wrong but I believe the window is still open for EFL clubs to take loans, just not the PL. If thats the case I think we may see Connor loaned to the Championship. Again subsidising Bats wages. We cant accomodate all of Ayew,Benteke,Connor & Sako on our bench.

In the end, we have to be happy with the loan of a good striker.
I suspect that the deal rather fell in our lap because the bigger clubs after him were messing around, but this is an increasingly rare opportunity to praise Parish so let's give him some credit for it.

Loans don't really help us going forward as with Loftus Cheek but at least we might score a goal or two now.

This window is all about the forthcoming Summer in my opinion.
Deadwood cleared and silly contracts over; Sako can go and cost nothing, Batman the same.
Wilf and Sakho may well go sadly but it leaves us with cash to spend and enough places to fill that the Manager (whoever he will be) can make his own mark on the Team.
Even if we manage to keep Wilf and Sakho there is still opportunity.
If we can stay up then maybe next Season will be batter.

Lets not forget we made a bid for this striker before Chelsea outbid us in 2016, maybe we could find that Reading defender we wanted BUT he was a fan of Chelsea so when they made a late bid, he went there, never played a game for them and was last I knew at Hull on loan!!
Tide is changing, better players want to play football not rot in big teams reserves. So I was Surprised Cahill didnt leave Chelsea but he may think, this Manager is going to soon be replaced!!

So hopefully we have done with window..
Stack up the bench with top players, so Roy is forced to consider our bench for impact.
We need points, Cardiff are not far behind and and if we cant deliver on Saturday against Fulham, they be even closer to us if beat us (god forbid)

COME ON THE EAGLLES, WE NEED THREE POINTS!!
