If there are no more than a couple of millions available for buying a striker. Keep an eye on him if you have the chance to watch the Asian Cup these days. Let's see if I'm right and if he scores or delivers many assists.

Almoez Ali Abdulla is a Qatarese striker of just 22 years old. Now, before you say anything about how poor the Qatar league is compared to the European ones, just watch him:

[Link]

Their national team results lately have bee good:

1-1 against Iceland in November 2017

4-3 win against Ecuador in October 2018 (with 2 goals and 2 assists by Abdulla)- and Ecuador is a really tough team to beat

1-0 agains Switzerland in November 2018 (and they played with Hoffenheim's Zuber, Xhaka from Arsenal, Liverpool's Shaqiri etc.)

2-2 with Iceland in November 2018, so the first result wasn't just a lie

23 goals and 26 assists in the last 2 years in 4700 minutes. Even if we multiply those minutes by 2 because the league is so below the English Premier League, he'd still score or assist 1 every 200 minutes. He has played on occasion as right or left wng, he is very fast and runs and works a lot (especially given his age).

Some Qatarese players like Ali Abdulla or winger Akram Afif- already bought by Villarreal but loaned to get more playing time- will be playing in Europe in no time. They missed out on the previous World Cup qualifiers because they were too young (now they are both 22 years old). They finished the Asian Cup qualifieng group on first place and will have an important word to say in the competition, you'll see.

It would also make for an intelligent investemtn for the future, as Qatar is guaranteed a place at the 2022 World Cup which will be exactly 3 years from now and where Ali Abdulla will be their starting striker. And, let me make a predicition, hosts always get 1-2 penalties so Abdulla WILL score goals there, increasing his value.

But that's getting too much ahead. Let's just see how Qatar fares against big teams of Asia like Japan and South Korea. Their striking force of Abdulla, Afif and al-Haydos look very good to me.

Sorry where do you get your stats from? From what I’m able to find on this guy is 3 goals in 15 games hardly prolific. playing in a league inferior to even the northern Irish league and can’t score more than one in 5. But he is good for a fifth true team in Spain in football manager

Reality. Look better, you'll find it online.

I think you're mixing the Ali Abdulla's you find online. Check to see if it's this 22 year old.

Not saying he'd rock the Premier League from the get go, but is one for the future and for little money compared to prices here.

I say this even though I don't know how he'll do at the Asian Cup. I might have said a stupid thing if he doesn't score at all, right? There are far better teams there than Qatar. Let's see how he does there.

Some nice goals slotted away in that video but he wasn't closely marked in one of them. With a Premier League defender bullying him this... What? 60kg? beanpole Would spend more time eating grass than dribbling the ball.
Some raw talent but we're struggling in that regard already.

Anybody any knowledge on what its like obtaining a work visa for Qatari nationals, especially if you're not even playing them, just "developing" them over numerous years?

Ok, 1 week later and he's got 5 goals in 2 matches and is top of the charts in the competition. And it's not over as his team is qualified for the next stage.

Foook me, I was kind of nervous when I decided to proposition him before the competition had even started as he's virtually a no-name.

If we're looking at Asian Cup strikers might I also suggest 18 year old Iraqi striker Mohanad Ali? Kid's been on fire for Iraq and is attracting attention from Rangers. Made his international debut age 17 and has 8 goals in 13 caps, two of those in the Asian Cup. There are some questions over whether he was actually born in 2000 or whether he was actually born in 1997 though. [Link]

Update: Asian Cup CHAMPIONS and Almoez Ali TOP SCORER with 9 goals. I made this thread before the competition had even started.

He did this in the final against Japan (CLICK THAT LIIIINK!!!):

If this isn't one of the biggest predictions in the history of football predictions, I don't know what is.

Let me hear the haters.

Not sure that this is a well known quote, but you get my drift.

Qatar are basically a team of mercenaries made up from other nations so as not to embarrass themselves on the world stage. French, Portuguese,Egypt & a smattering of North African countries are just a few of the countries they have been chosen from.
I would be amazed If they pick up a point in this years Copa America where along with Japan they have an Invite to play.

I try to be a gentleman, yet you bring up family into an online argument with a stranger.

You know why I edited? I didn't want to ask you, but now I really do: why does none of the sh*t you throw stick? why don't your predictions ever come true?
