If we are all being honest RH has done a truly fantastic job for us that's IMO. We are without doubt playing the best football since we arrived in the PL and I have no idea why a lot have such a downer on Sclupp.

Tick up

Easy comment to make after beating relegation fodder.

He's also got the best squad since we were promoted and we look on for one the worst finishes.

Regarding yesterday's win, we had something ridiculous like 37% possession, at home, against a championship team in effect:

It might be the result that counts and I'm happy for the 3 points, but let's not go crazy. Those massive cracks aren't so easy to fill over.

ChrisGC, you wouldn't be happy if we won 6-0 every week with 99% possession, be happy for a change like most CP supporters, don't be forever looking for faults, it's not a perfect world.

Ranieri won the PL with Leicester with an average of just 44.8% possession. As Fulham showed, it's what you do with the possession, not how much you have. Your relentlessly negative comments are starting to look silly given we have now won 5 and drawn 2 in our last 10 games, including wins against Leicester, Wolves and of course Man City. Early in the season we were not playing well, but now we have the form of a top 10 team. I'm not saying Roy is perfect and I question some of his decisions, but his results speak for themselves. If we'd given Fulham space they would have passed their way through us, but as we were so compact they were forced to go sideways and backwards all the time.

Based on our current form it is not unrealistic that we could get 6-9 points from the next 5 games which would see us almost safe for another season with 8 games to go. Apart from one season under Pardew we have always finished stronger, so fingers crossed and keep your chin up, the team may even reach your expectations.

Gerry, Hi: as we know eachother so well to be making these sort of statements and giving unsolicited advice, let me reciprocate:

You'd be happy with 1% possession, losing 7-0 every week and being relegated with record low points. Don't be forever looking for the best in everything, it's not a perfect world.

1) Are you serious? Are you basing this on yesterday? We've taken 14 points from 33 in the past 11 league games which includes humiliating defeats to Brighton, Watford and Wet spam, and points dropped Vs Southampton and Cardiff.

2) We're unlikely to finish in the top 9, so no, I doubt my realistic expectations of this squad will be met.

My realistic comments are based on facts. If you find them silly in comparison to your baseless opinion, good luck to you. The league table doesn't lie.

Think I'll leave it up to others to comment on your latest sarcastic post.

At least Roy provokes dividing opinion on here!

Bit puzzled by Schlupps inclusion from the start yesterday, I think he can have a decent impact as a sub and with relative anonymity in a midfield 3 however when he has specific responsibilities such as providing the wing threat and tracking back (yesterday), he looks a bit out of his league and somewhat bewildered. Still a bit unsure on Ayew but feel hesitant to criticise him as he puts in a shift at least.

Would have liked to of seen Sako on the wing from the start or earlier yesterday as at least he is a direct player with attacking intent, Schluppy gets a nose bleed out wide hence seeing him drift centrally too often yesterday. I thought Meyer for Jimmy was a no brainer as well.

All being said this is very much spectator management talk which I’d undoubtedly feel far more strongly about had we not won yesterday! However, we did win, Benteke looked strong albeit still needs to build confidence, Batshuayi looks very promising and I’ll give Roy the benefit of the doubt for the time being.... until we next lose.

Can never understand negativity following a win, last seven days we’ve beaten Tottenham, got Doncaster in the draw, 4 points in the league and done some excellent business in the window, cheer up!

COYP!!!

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

Appreciate all of that, fair play. It's been overlooked, but I did say in the original post that I was happy with the result...

We struggle against teams who park the bus and give us posession. We are a very good counter attacking side. Fulham are incapable of parking the bus, but are good going forward when given time and space. so surely our best tactics were to deny them space and catch them on the break? Tactics seemed to work pretty well to me. I think west ham will be more defensive next week so we'll probably have more possession and have to break them down. We'll see.

Looking back & breaking the season into rough thirds, in the first 13 games we took just 9pts & in the last 12 we've taken 17pts which is a big improvement.
I'm hoping we can carry on with our current form level which would give us an estimated 44pts but that may be a bit optimistic. Allowing for a couple of poor results we shd still stay up IMHO. We've played 8 of our 'top 6' team games so potentially 4 tough 'no-pointers'. That leaves 9 games to potentially get the needed 12-13pts for safety.
