Far to early to say he’s the best right back we’ve had in 105 odd years.
But he must have had the best 30 performances in his first 30 games that any Palace player has ever had. 100%
He’s currently our best player, by a f*cking mile. Want to see him against Anderson next week as I hear he got skinned at Upton Park ( of whatever they call it now ) earlier in the season.
What a player, lose the beads Arron, they must p*ss you off, they p*ss me off.
He also uses my gym and Is a lump in real life.

Johnny McNichol - Scottish right back and captain in late 50s early 60s. Unfortunately he once broke 2 opposition players legs in consecutive matches - that was when you were allowed to tackle.

Unfortunate for them , by the sounds of it.

We have had some excellent right backs. Doris was the only right back I can remember when I was a lad so he must of been with us for years through the 70’s and 80’s. He has to get my vote. Danny Butterfield was a superb professional but I suspect AWB will comfortably surpass these two in achievements if not longevity at the club.

Nat Clyne was pretty good, but Joel Ward for consistency and was always Mr. Reliable.

AWB is in my mind will be the best. Converted from a winger to a right back, he will be the best right back in Europe inside 5 years. I can see him playing for PSG or Bayern Munich.

Every game now he gets in a tackle on a forward and you think, how the hell did he get to him so quickly. He did Sane and Rashford giving them a couple of yards start too!

I think we forget Joel Ward, had he been playing for a top six club two seasons ago he would have had an England call up. He has been the bedrock of our defense for what five to six years. Give him credit top guy top right back.
I am not saying he is better than Aaron Wan-Bissaka just that Joel was the best prior to AWB who is the nuts.

Ward, Clyne, Butterfield, Edworthy, Boyce... we've been blessed with some great RBs in recent years. For me though, AWB is better than them all and will be an England regular

Joel Ward is a good lad, honest and the team can depend on him. I remember when we had loads of injuries to our midfield players and he came in and filled that spot in the middle of the park.

He was bloody good too, so Clyne, Wardy and AWB so those 3 would be my picks...All of which have been in recent years.

Not exactly the best but no one ever liked playing left side against him...Kevin Muscat.

Its relative to other positions a pretty easy position to play . You wouldn't exactly say any of the above were great footballers though yes decent full backs all . AWB is a case in point a junior winger whos future was probably away from the club at least in the foreseeable .Wasn't exactly knocking on the door until he moved to full back .

And what a move its turned out to be . Quick ,reads the game well and tackles without giving too many (hardly any) free kicks . Obviously likes seeing the game in front of him and has an attacking instinct born from his upbringing as a winger .

Ive seen most of those mentioned and some and AWB is up there with the best of them and he will get better and better and could end up being our greatest full back and one of our greatest footballers .

And we still need a striker
