Over 800 matches have had full VAR already?! Worldwide I assume. Italy and Germany are into their 2nd seasons with it. MLS, A league, world cup, internationals etc.

If they use VAR like they did at the World Cup where the referee has a look at a monitor pitchside and then changes his decision or sticks to it then that is fine. What I don't like is what we have seen in the FA Cup this season where the referee gets told in his ear that he was wrong and he needs to change the decision. That is taking power away from the referee and makes it pointless having him out there. Please let it be the former.

It seems that if the referee in rugby has a bit of doubt about the try he asks the TMO to check for him rather than the TMO being the instigator. This seems a good way to do it and it works well in Rugby. You could follow a similar path in football but the VAR ref should also have the ability to intervene if there is something he thinks the on field Ref has missed but the final say should be down to the on field Ref which it sounds like FIFA want. It's all abit confusing and I can see a lot of frustration if a clear method isn't settled on.

The whole purpose is to get the right decision, players lose respect if as in the foulhampton game the officials miss foul after foul and penalty incidents etc..hence Zaha clapping etc, that sort of thing will never happen with VAR.

Will probably see a yellow or two in the first few games if the referees abide by this . . . Just hope it's not Wilf.

Wilf will win penalties that at the moment he isn't. We will benefit from that if he's still with us. frankly the speed of his feet is crazy and "give it to Wilf in the box" will become a deadly tactic.

It'll just mean 3 cvnts making biased decisions against the like of us and in favour of the likes of 'them', rather than just 1.
