I can't say I have any tolerance for any stated approved mutilation of children....but I suppose he has a point about laws in general.

What narks me is......where is the law on male genital mutilation?

How is it....in the world of so called equality....that, quite rightly, we have laws banning female genital mutilation but no laws banning male genital mutilation?

It's ridiculous that circumcision of children for non medical reasons is allowed in this country.

If people want to pay for it when they are an adult then fair enough.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.

What does the circumcisied little boy do when someone knocks at the door and he’s at the open front door, with or without a parent, pulling his foreskin down to the floor? It’s unfair a child has had his right to pull at his foreskin like no tomorrow in the company of house guests removed, with said foreskin.

Yep. These ancient customs are either absurd or, in the case of females, a disgrace. Non Kosher food with today’s food safety in the western world and Israel if they wanted is also ridiculous. All that seafood and cured pork they’re missing out on.

There is (apparently) evidence that male circumcision results in health benefits. As usual the evidence comes from people with some 'skin in the game'.

It is noteworthy that the Prophet Mohammed asked that girls only be circumcised in the same way as boys. In other words the hood and some tidying of the labia only.

''Indeed, one of the first missions of the Prophet Muhammad was to express his outrage at and denunciation of the pre-Islamic Arab customs surrounding newborn girls''

Modern toiletries make sure your bellend is clean, as long as you shower daily. It’s all out of date stuff.

You are suggesting things about Muhammad that aren't known. There are no references to FGM in the Qu'ran and all the other references are considered weak.

Many Muslim religious authorities appear to agree that FGM is not required by Islam nor is prohibited by it as fatwas have been issued both forbidding FGM and approving of it,

However, circumcision of both male and female is traditional in both Islamic and Arab cultures generally.....hence the problems visited upon our shores.

Are you serious?

Any bodily mutilation for religious reasons is barking mad.
I couldn't care less what some ancient codswallop says.

Anyone trying to get near my dick with a knife will experience their own personal armageddon.

TUESDAY, Dec. 2, 2014 (HealthDay News) -- U.S. health officials are poised to endorse circumcision as a means of preventing HIV and other sexually transmitted diseases.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Tuesday released its first-ever draft guidelines on circumcision that recommend that doctors counsel parents and uncircumcised males on the health benefits of the procedure.

The guidelines do not outright call for circumcision of all male newborns, since that is a personal decision that may involve religious or cultural preferences, Dr. Jonathan Mermin, director of the CDC's National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD and TB Prevention, told the Associated Press.
