I agree that street talk has a long way to go before it is as broadly accepted as something like Essex, but my argument is that it should be every bit as accepted, certainly in social situations. The negative stigma attached to it stems from, in my opinion, an ignorance about that particular sub-culture. Their chance will have been and gone if it’s ever accepted like other accents, and in today’s world they’re in competition with not only young adults from all over Britain but all over the world. Up to them.

You’ve made some ludicrous points on this thread which I had opted not to ridicule - I don’t think it’s too much to ask for you to do the same; generally it’s the approach of someone who’s position is looking more nonsensical by the minute. There are many industries where this type of culture is now the dominant one; tv, radio, sport, social media/YouTube and that’s now spreading to more general marketing and advertising roles. I won’t mention retail and food industries as you’ve already made clear your thoughts on people who chose to make a living that way. Aside from general corporate roles, and traditional manual jobs, I don’t think it is considered a hindersnce anywhere - employment is rapidly changing beyond the traditional suit and tie office environment.

The ignorance point is entirely what I believe, yes.

Sounds like you’re losing traction, fella. Yep, those industries you list employ hundreds of thousands of people. And you’re talking about ridiculing my points. I didn’t give any opinion on food and retail. I just said I don’t want to be served by someone sounding like that. In customer service you serve. It is your problem there, not mine. And actually I do t think many choose supermarkets or fast food due to the pay. They end up in them, hence a lot of my points. But carry on.

A lot of people in the UK, are ignorant to street/urban culture - what exactly is difficult about that? You, as an individual, might not be - good for you.
