Cannot understand why he (or his advisors) thought it sensible to appeal- it was open and shut case. The FA will tolerate foul language and abuse of linesmen but sarcasm is a no-go. its was sound advice, we had him for West Ham and he now only misses the Doncaster game when we would have probably rested him anyway!

Ward Prowse is a little rat faced prick and was glad to see Le Tis stick the boot in, as his words carry weight at Soton: As for Stephens, you may never see a more blatant orange, or in fact straight red card not even warrant a free kick 5 yards in front of the ref. Refereeing standards seem to somehow be getting worse since that days of David Elleray and Uriah Rennie, which is pretty incredible.

He had three days to state whether he would contest the ban or not so he could have played against West Ham then told the FA that he wouldn't contest it There's no added ban for a failed appeal of the ban anymore so even if you know you'll lose it, it is worth the try.
