The majority of those eligible to vote didn't vote to leave as around 27% didn't vote, add that to those who voted remain means that a majority of the total electorate did not vote to leave. (I'm not saying how the 27% would have voted just that they didn't vote leave).

So you are counting children among those who didn't vote to leave. Oh my days.

At least there was an opportunity with this.

Please read. I also said the reverse was true.

Yeah, you included that in an edit to your post that you made while I was typing the response.

The upshot is it makes no difference.

Johhno is correct though when you consider that whole-hearted consent was required in the first referendum to remain in the common market, and to be consistent this test should have applied in the 2016 vote.

As it was not done, it has led to a nation divided.

Perhaps Wilson realised that, an extremely capable politician.

Led to a nation divided? How would a different decision have been any different?

Wilson was a disaster.

I'll also add that the common market is a very different animal to what we have now......It was not a fledgling political superstate.

I support the idea of a common market and so do most on the right.

I'm all for more independent MPs, the more the merrier. However, people didn't vote for an independent candidate, therefore there should be a by-election.

They should change the rules so this becomes the law.

Agree. The irony of these f***ers demanding a second referendum but ruling out a by election.

One even said: "the last thing anyone wants is another election".

Zzzzzzzzzz not this clutch again.

It was one of the highest ever turn outs so the extrapolation of the figure can be trusted to be an accurate representation across the whole voter demographic.

Even to these completely irrelevant percentages, it works out as a split of 38% leave, 33% remain (or something like that, it's a mute point so the figure doesn't stick in my mind)

We do vote for laws by voting someone within a political party into power to make and impliment them for us.
There is an opportunity to vote your one in.

Neither leave or remain had a majority of the eligible vote. It isn't rocket science.

I voted remain but I accept that the way the vote went that we should now leave.
