But we as the public cant expect a referendum on every law change.

I think the Swiss vote on all the important ones.

I wouldn't have our system as it currently is as I think it's out of date, but I take your point.

The swiss way is ok but it is very subjective.
Who determines what is important as some things are to certain people and others its not and visa versa.
If the mps still determine whats important it really is status quo.

Funny how the likes of Chuka Umunna wants another Brexit vote.

But he doesn't want a second vote himself in terms of a by-election.

It's OK LAbourites.

Red Derek Hatton is back.

Should be a good indication of where Labour is heading under JC.

Odd that they now embrace communists and yet abandon their lifetime working class supporters in favour of the immigrant vote.
They are obviously planning for a future where immigrants and their offspring decide who runs the country.

Can't immigrants be working class? The reason I ask is that the Labour party has always tried to appeal to immigrants.

Starts a breakaway party when a few years ago he didn’t want to stand as leader when he could have been and lead the party his way. But he wasn’t ready. As if you get to choose when you are in politics, like in top football club management.

Agree. The irony of these f***ers demanding a second referendum but ruling out a by election.

One even said: "the last thing anyone wants is another election".

I hadn't heard that, it actually made me laugh out loud!

The influx of immigrants is not in the interests of the existing population especially the 'working class'.
Labour is championing their interests at the expense of the traditional voter.
It is not surprising that a party wishes to get elected but everyone should understand that if you are White and working class you no longer matter.
It should confirm to anyone still in doubt that the existing population is in decline while immigrant populations will soar.

Interesting points you raise.

No, Labour are attempting to champion their interests as well as those of migrants who currently live in this country.

Raise the minimum wage, increase social security, build hundreds of thousands more homes, stop NHS privatisation and respect the referendum result. What more do you want them to do?

With the state of our politics right now I really don't blame people for jumping ship from either party
