Just tried to watch it, I somehow lasted 10 minutes before I gave it up, it just wasn’t funny

It will be interesting to see where the series goes in the rest of its run. Surely not the same format every week.

I'm Alan Partridge was back of the net type stuff but I didn't take to this either. It's either that comedy characters just don't age well or a sh!t format. I'll give it one more chance next week.

Always found Alan Patridge completely overrated, however this was even worse than usual.

Did like him as Paul Calf though.

My mate's a journo and has seen the whole season. He promises it gets better.

I'd have thought you'd be more a Pauline Calf man.

I was looking forward to this on iplayer as well. Not now, but will see how bad it is. Previously he was excellent as Alan Partridge.

It’s not the first time I’ve heard he’s a cvnt.

He was good in Philomena with Judi Dench.

Partridge was excellent. He’s beginning to look like him with the awful hair and disgruntled, cheesed off look while he annoys people with his political opinion, which I won’t bring into this thread.

Anyone who doesn't find Coogan funny lives in a different universe to me.
Perhaps they are the sort of people who get excited about that cliched tedium that was Only Fools and Horses or maybe they like the sublime sophistication of Mrs Brown's Boys.

The first episode of the new Partridge was funny in places and I think Coogan is brave to keep the character alive given how brilliant Knowing Me Knowing You and I'm Alan Partridge was. It's hard to keep the material up to such a high standard.

Never mind naysayers. There are always re runs of Harry Enfield and Chums or some Roy Chubby Brown videos around.

He was surprisingly good in Philomena, I thought.

I watched This Time last night and thought it was very funny in places, certainly better than the Martin Clunes comedy Warren which I also recorded and watched. Warren did have a few funny bits but not enough to make me watch it again.

It's 106 miles to Chicago, we got a full tank of gas, half a pack of cigarettes, it's dark... and we're wearing sunglasses.
