Came back from Ohio last night, was out there for the main duration of this story. Journalism in America is dying. Their hatred of Trump meant they got blinded by a obviously made up story. From the fact it happened in Chicago during a polar vortex, to the point that he still had the noose around his neck 40 mins later. Two white guys in MAGA hats wouldn’t last 2 mins in Chicago.

From what I heard he paid a couple of Nigerians to rough him up. You would have thought that there were plenty of people who would have done that for free.

I notice that Betty Swallocks, Jubbly Smollett.. or whatever his name is has now put in a not guilty plea. Good luck with that. I've never seen Empire but I can't imagine it's as exciting as the gay tupac saga.

Well this stinks all charges have been dropped. However reading between the lines there does appear to be a case to be answered but the authorities have decided not to go ahead with it. "The Cook County State's Attorney's office said in a statement: "After reviewing all of the facts and circumstances of the case, including Mr Smollett's volunteer service in the community and agreement to forfeit his bond to the City of Chicago, we believe this outcome is a just disposition and appropriate resolution to this case." Edited by Badger11 (26 Mar 2019 5.15pm) How strange. The 'attack' to me looked this something out of a bad soap. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but that was my take. I've just now read that a number of statements were made by law enforcement, giddy at exposing Smollet. Numerous claims of guilt before due process and statements that he'd been given a cheque for $3500 for the 'attack' to these Nigerian personal trainer brothers. Apparently this an amount to has routinely paid for personal trainer fees. My take is that they made numerous untrue statements about him and that they feared it would be a lose - lose with numerous charges being filed by both directions hence they have sealed this case to protect all sides. For what it's worth the whole story about this attack, to me still sounds made up and I think he should be kissing the feet of his legal team for this outcome.
