It's dirty and unethical.

The primary person responsible for that baby's death is its mother. The person who placed it into that situation.

I agree with the view that we should have taken the baby. However, we were under no obligation to do so. It is purely a demonstration of mercy and an affordable sympathy towards an endangered innocence.

It has caveats but part of the responsibility of the strong is to protect the weak......but I respect and understand the anger of many of the Holers here. Just my view.

It's not anger on my part. It is just recognition of the impractical nature of helping people who have no pity or remorse and who wish to hurt us.

Her dead children are the innocent victims of her foolishness, religious zealotry and our governments for allowing cultures that are backward and anti Western into Britain.

All true.

Apart from the fact that they met and spoke to her in Raqqar, yeah right. They just go on holidays to a war zone by chance.

I await any form of proof of such a strong assertion

It's within the transcript for the second interview once her citizenship is revoked. She talks about her family telling her it would be easy to come back when they met.

It's easily googled, but I'm not inclined to do that for you as you keep saying meany words to me and I've been crying myself to sleep every night because you're not my fwend and ganged up on me with your pseudo account BarEagle to get me carded boo hoo hoo.

Her family could not. She was stripped of her citizenship. I believe they did declare their willingness to do so. I feel genuinely sorry for them.

I feel sorry for them too ... clearly we don't know the full facts and how much contact she has had with her family but if it was my relative I would have made the effort to get out there. Possibly, the media and government would have been more compassionate and even assisted. Action always speaks louder than words.

I guess I am very cynical these days but I feel from the start of this story that someone is manipulating the media and they seem happy to go along with it. The intention to get the public to feel sorry for this woman.

Phase 1
I'm a pregnant woman

Phase 2
Ah look at the baby

Phase 3
My life is in danger from the nasty ISIS people in the camp.

Phase 4
Tragedy

OK I have no proof but this is just a feeling I have. How do we know that she lost 2 of her previous babies? How do we know that she was even pregnant and that the baby was hers?

It probably was her baby but I can't shake the feeling that much of what we have seen in the media has been stage managed to soften up the public.

Now if I am completely wrong in all of this then that is the fault of the media with all their fake news and social justice stories. When the boy cried wolf in the end no one believed him when the wolf really came.

I found this:

It must have been a terrible shock for your family when you left.

They were [shocked]. Because at first obviously they did try and ask me to come back, but I kept saying no.

Then they gave up, and now I'm kind of, after four years I'm asking them for help now.

It's kind of, a big slap in the face to them.

If your conspiracy theory is correct, she sure as hell couldn't have stuck to the script. Said pretty much everything wrong that it was possible to say.

With whom do you believe she was conspiring?

I don't think it's a big conspiracy more likely that the family have a PR advisor in the background. Anyway just me venting the BBC has certainly been sympathetic to her cause.

Your bleeding heart bleeds too much.

No one with any humanity wants to see a baby die but it is remote from us and therefore easier to put into context without emotionalism.
Simply put. Any concern for her children is relatively small in comparison to my care for mine. Her kind would like to kill all of us and turn this world into a religious hell.
All things are relative. Showing mercy in these circumstances would not serve the greater good and you know it. This is a war and one we must win for the sake of all our children.

If her family, and in particular her father,( who has been the one to have a lot to say about this whole thing) were really so concerned for her welfare, why didn't he take her 'home' to his place in Bangladesh, where he is apparently now happily residing with his new wife No2 ?

- and the cost shouldn't be a problem, because Muslims are well known for their charitable works, sohe should have been able to raise funds quite easily.
