If that were true, I cannot see why SP wouldn’t have jumped at the chance. Bcause he was stupid.. And there were a lot of stupid users on this site too who were saying that Benteke is better than Batshuayi and that they should actually give us Batshuayi+30 million just so we give them Benteke. I'm gonna dig out the thread if you don't believe me. Benteke still had good credentials back then for people like Conte, though he had clearly been misfiring for some time.

Before Michy - billions of assists/attempts but... no goals. I know he's hopeless at approach play, but I was hoping he would be that last kick that finishes the team. Presumably, with him our midfield is inevitably weaker with one player having to give way? This football lark can be quite frustrating.

sorry not a fan of the batman sooner he leaves the better although saying that he has scored two cracking goals pity the rest of his game is not as good as the goals

Do people think Benteke would have created that chance for himself V Watford let alone scored it? he'd have backed off Mariappa and let him play the diagonal. Batshuyai is a solid striker to have in the team and makes us a better proposition, than if we start with benteke or ayew.
