How many of those were pot shot efforts from outside of the area? We just pass the ball in front of the defence. Fail to break them down. The take a lot shot.

This isn't good data. It's contrived. Like most of your arguments.

It was actually to highlight the MOTM and I got carried away lol ..out of the six apparent awful games mentioned in three of them the oppositions keeper had to be MOTM to prevent us scoring.

Sorry for being contrived.

I agree with a lot of what you say and don’t think everything Roy does is right. As other have alluded to I’d like to see more aggression when the opposition take liberties and perhaps see a bit more use made of Meyer although he’s had plenty of chances.

I really disagree about the strength of the squad, particularly the lack of any quick, skilful ball carriers in midfield and our aerial weakness. That aside,Take Wilf and Sakho from the the team and we’re absolutely knackered.

The depth of our squad is not strong at all but the three games against Watford who do play aggressively we actually created very good opportunities ..in the first game as I remember we had two brilliant one on ones in the first half and Zaha scored in the second and right at the death Ward missed a sitter from a corner to make it 2-2, at home McArthur missed the miss of all misses when at 1-1 and it took a kamikaze keeper in the last to ruin our chances, we are not going to play aggressively because that is not the way Hodgson wants his team to play, it is very obvious.

Take our chances and we would be very safe by now.

At the present time we have won 4 of our previous 10 PL games.

Interesting fact for you Willo:
Newcastle's record this season is identical to this time last season ie same games played, same wins, same draws, same losses, same goals for, same goals against. What would the odds be on that? Call it consistancy

Fantastic - I do like a good stat."Unbelievable Jeff" !

Noticed that as per last season after 31 games, Newcastle are 7 pts off the drop zone.Only difference is that Newcastle are currently 13th but last season were 12th after 31 games. They will be safe this season.

What depresses me most about Roy Hodgson is his apparent inability to react pro-actively when we are behind and need to up our game.

His substitutions have sometimes been bizarre, but always too late and reactive.

If he can't work out how our 'strike force' find it so hard to score goals at home - I can tell him.

The forwards are not mobile enough, don't find space and as a result are usually closely marked. Consequently passes from midfield are useless as the recipients are under pressure and unable to control the ball.

I do feel sorry for Meyer - in any other team he would be the star. It was ever so thus when we find
a midfield general.

We must stay with him and perhaps put on Benteke to pair with Batshuayi from the start. Impact sub. Benteke is not.

Huddersfield is the key to Hodgson's survival.

Subs ggrr
At watford he had 10 mins and used 1 sub.
Why not lose 4-1 by bringing on ayew and wickham and having a go.
Like i posted he would take 0-0 or 0-1 and hope the occasional victory and good goal difference gets us over the line.
Nice bloke, clever bloke but not a palace bloke.
Not for us ever so demanding fans anyhow !!!!!!

There are multiple reasons for this:
1) He doesn’t understand tactics
2) He doesn’t understand subs
3) He has no plan B
4) He knows he won’t get sacked for a narrow defeat
5) He can just claim we were unfortunate (again)

Just take look at the EPL table for Away games. We are 7th in that above Arsenal, Wolves, Everton, West Ham to name a few plus 8 others. It's what is, so far, looking like keeping us in the PL. Sacking the manager would not automatically ensure a better home record. Be careful what you wish for or we could end up like Charlton.

I can't believe with that brilliant insight, and being hampered in forming your view by not seeing the players in training every day, that you are not managing at a high level.

Have you considered offering your services to the Club?

eyes rolling

Again, do you actually believe you know more about football , managing the team and picking the squad than Roy.

If you do then fair play

I was wondering if Roy carries on next season i think it would be wise to have his successor working alongside him so we have a smooth transition when Roy calls it a day.

Thoughts.
