Leaving is a very vague description of their intentions. It includes every kind of leaving. Shares being up for sale, which is what it is, is white specific. If I were to draw a venn diagram there’d be a massive ‘leaving circle’ with a small ‘shares up for sale’ circle, with probably half of it inside the massive ‘leaving’ circle.

I think your above reply just proves my point.

How is leaving a vague description? 2 Americans with no affiliation with the club each buy 18% shareholding in club. A few years later just before a major investment is required they announce they are putting their shares up for sale.

If the share sale goes through they have no shares and no interest in the club i.e they have left. pretty clear to me.

Please don't bother responding!!!

Do you really believe that? I think Noades knew by separating the ground (our only asset) we wouldn't be able to raise money via the banks (as no collateral to use as a guarantee) and so administration was almost inevitable.

He also took the training ground out of the deal too.

For both the ground and training facilities he charged us top ££ too. Not a nice man and did CPFC no favours

Only reporting what Noades stated. He also said that he did not set out to own 'Selhurst Park' after he sold it.

Wasn't it his property company that bought the space above the stand that the club had to buy layer? Literally had to pay for empty air.

Honestly not really

It was never, ever, a decent pub. Not in my lifetime.

Whereas Sainsbury's was a bit wonderful with its original tiling and slabs. It was painful when that shut.

The bloke was just so greedy. Everything he could think of to squeeze money out of Palace he did. Palace put his kids through private school and paid for Novello's horses and stables.
In todays corporate rules/laws he would have never been allowed to cripple the club financially the way he did for his own ends.
Even in the top division when we were going well he always pleaded poverty. Who remembers when we were relegated in 94/95 season? Nearly the entire team was sold to 'keep us afloat' according to uncle Ron. Coleman, Ninja, Southgate, Martyn, Armstrong, Thorn, etc, etc, etc all went. The combined transfer fees totalled over 16m. A humungus amount for that time. And we were all supposed to be grateful when abount 1.5m was reinvested in to the team.
While he was quaffing Champagne at a newly aquired golf club and laughing with his toff mates. He was a greedy git Noades.
And he still kept squeezing the club via rent increases on Selhurst Park long, long after he'd left the club.

You got that right. It was a dump. I lived a few yards down the road and went there twice ever.

I don't remember Sainsbury's much but I do remember when Hughie Green opened the Co op.

Noades was a very shrewd business man and had a talent for spotting a decent player from a lower level club. He went and watched a lot of other teams scouting himself. Unfortunately he was too clever for Goldberg and that started the decline.
You are wrong about players departure Southgate went end of 93 season and Martyn went at the end of 95 season playing one season in the Championship to his credit.

Wrong ONLY about the dates. The money still went mainly to Altonwood and was never seen again. You want to worship Uncle Ron's tenure? Good for you mate. You're on your own
