Instead of people waffling about lifestyle changes.....which in reality will make bugger all difference to anything related to climate change....One of the real technologies that would literally change the world.....literally almost putting it into another era is nuclear fusion....affecting much more than the environment.

As has been said, this technology has always been 50 years away....which is what they said 50 year ago....But we have recently been making breakthroughs.

Nuclear fusion will be the turning point for our species, it's huge & if we pull it off we have a good chance of extending our short time on this rock.

Also weather control technology is far more advanced than I previously thought.

Apologies if this post is a bit wooly I can't find the article it was a a few years ago.

Before nuclear fusion is a reality I think you will see a major break through in conventional nuclear power stations.

Nuclear power stations are powered by uranium and produce plutonium as a by product useful for nuclear bombs.

Back in the 1950's American scientists realised that you could use another power source instead of uranium (I can't remember what it is Lithium?). Anyway they never pursued this because it doesn't create plutonium which was their real goal.

The documents were released a few years ago and ignored by everyone except the Chinese. They realised that this was safe technology because you cannot use it to build nuclear weapons. They also realised that the waste instead of taking thousands of years to decay broke down a lot quicker. The design of the theoretical reactor and surrounding building should also be easier and a lot cheaper.

The target date the Chinese gave for a prototype reactor was about 2025. I haven't seen this mentioned since but hopefully it will be a reality. Countries like North Korea and Iran could then have safe nuclear technology.

Anyway here's hoping.

I invested a few quid in a US company working on fusion.
To date have lost 80% of investment. In theory, if ever successful , will make a pile but realistically will be glad to break even in next 10 -15 years - if I around that long!
