Why does everyone seem to think that Dann is better than Kelly. He was awful today. Terrible defending and every time the ball was at his feet he'd just hoof it 30 yards away from any palace player. Kelly's gotta be in against spurs

Yep agree. Kelly is a very good back up center back. Anyone that thinks of him negatively is remembering him as a full back, where he is shocking.

We will need Kelly against Spurs on Wednesday or we will end up conceding loads. With Dann as good as he is there are too many spaces left when he plays. Kelly must play on Wednesday.COYP

Horses for courses. Kelly gets bullied against big / strong teams as we saw at against Watford. Dann’s the wrong side of thirty and come back from a career threatening injury but stronger defending the penalty area.

He is being asked to spray some balls around by the manager I expect, and is not, and never has been any good at that. The manager should recognize that and instruct him not to go long except when under pressure. He is no Sakho.

Good solid player, great in the air, but past his best now. We should maybe sell him this summer as he would still do a great job in the Championship. Perhaps bring in the youngster who is being touted as a talent as fourth centre back next season.

I agree with the consensus so far on this thread. Great player for us in the past and a good club Captain but yesterday showed he really is past it now at this level. He was exposed so badly yesterday for his lack of pace and his distribution was shocking. Yes he is good in the air but we need far more than that at this level. Having both Dann and Tomkins as our two centre backs gives us potentially the slowest and least mobile pairing in the league.

The problem is signing players who are quality and will sit on the bench. We have to try and find someone who fits the bill in the summer because our season could have been a lot worse had Sakho been injured earlier.

hes looking like hes past it, im getting a puncheon vibe from him, just lacking that extra yard that you need at this level. still good in the air though and he might get back in the swing if things. kelly is much more mobile and a better passer. just shows what a top player sakho is, gutted he got injured.
