You say first season no real threat of relegation well it was only a couple weeks ago we were still in trouble may be not so now but let’s fair we have consistently looking over our shoulders. All we want is to see our team give it a go win lose or draw, tonight was totally unacceptable. If I performed like that in my job I would soon be relieved of my duties why should this be any different in football. People on here think when people moan it’s about winning all the time that is not the case we just want to see our team give it a go.

The real problems lie with the complete lack energy and creativity in midfield Max Meyer included and an attacking left back who has fallen of a cliff. Throw in that only two centre backs are now premier league level and Townsend’s form is all over the place and I think Roy more than has his work cut out.

Its a fact I am afraid. Another one - you CAN play long ball, to Benteke. We had absolutely no out ball tonight and succumbed to the inevitable relentless waves of attacks when you dont have one. Sitting back and soaking up pressure is fine when you hit teams on the break, we just forgot the second part. AWB looks lost coming forward with Townsend in there, but is still easily one of our best players. We managed to lose most 50 50s tonight, for all the criticism of Meyer we have some weak tacklers in the middle of the park who lose 50 50 contests far too often. But all that aside, the worst thing about tonight THE ABSOLUTE WORST THING: Not changing things. We were crap first half, unable to create any scoring chances. That continued second half, then we went a goal down. CHANGE THE F8CKING TEAM then you dopey old fool. Dont wait until we are 2-0 down to actually get some bodies forward. FFS its not rocket science.

Really, do you honestly think the recent performances against Manure, Brighton, Watford Huddersfield and now Spurs were acceptable, because I don’t. I also think you have missed the fact that we have been flirting with relegation all season and it is only because of the fact there are three totally garbage sides in the league that we are safe even though we have still not achieved 40points.

Once we went one nil down Roy had to change it, yet he didn't until 80th min when it was too late. I wouldn't have cared if we had lost 4 nil as long as Roy had tried something different. Unfortunately it was a case of same old same old, changes too little too late. Really uninspiring for us fans

Would have liked to have seen us go for it a bit more, especially at 1 nil. Puzzled as to why Roy didn't make the changes then, giving the likes of Tekkers and Andros a bit more time to get into the game. Perhaps if Roy had gone for it a bit more, we would have got something from the game, but we could just as easily have been picked off and lost by more. Is it better to lose 3 nil while "going for it" versus being cautious and losing 2 nil? I don't know. There have been a few flat performances this season. A few very good ones too. But is this really enough of a reason to call time on Roy, because we haven't been 'that great' this season? Would Palace fans really be that much happier with a younger, more attacking "forward-thinking" manager? Let's say, for arguments sake, we got someone in like Eddie Howe... I mean look at Bournemouth's away results at the top 6: Chelsea 2 Bournemouth 0 Pretty bad results for a more "adventurous" style of football. Would we be happy with these kinds of score lines? I think it just underlines how tough it is for us smaller premier league clubs. Do you stick or twist? Roy tends to be more cautious at times, but we rarely get spanked. Our goal difference isn't bad at -5, considering where we are in the table. But at the same time, you could argue that Bournemouth's play is generally a bit more entertaining, even if they get spanked a few times. End result is we'll probably finish on a similar points total to Bournemouth like last season (even though we played for half a season without a recognised striker). In my view that's not too bad for a club like palace. Relative safety. Parish and board will probably stick, rather than twist, and keep Roy. I personally don't think it's that bad, he's a safe pair of hands, we're unlikely to get relegated with him as boss. Might even improve a bit next season, given a bit of backing to improve the overall squad. But if we twisted and did change the manager, who would we get? Eddie Howe probably wouldn't come to us. Others like Lampard and Wagner have been mentioned as being possible options, in a similar vein to Howe. Are they safe pairs of hands or quite a big gamble? What about others? Southampton managed to get Ralph Hasenhüttl. He's being praised for turning them around this season. Yet their form in 2019 is really no different to Palace under Roy (although Ralph does thump his chest like Klopp, perhaps that's all fans want these days). Could we attract someone similar, with a growing reputation? E.g. Mark Van Bommel is doing a good job at PSV, would he be a good option? Would he give up champions league to come to Palace? Even if he did, look what happened when we got FDB, another manager who had done well in the dutch league. There's really no magic wand for this.

I’m looking forward to this season so I can forget about this like I did during the international break, only go face reality and our complete fvck up of a summer window come the start of the season, even if the window closes before the first league match.
