So one journalist's opinion from 2008 trumps opinion polls around 2016 to 2019?

And yours trumps over 17m voters in the same timescale.

Sounds like you are going full pentavorate here, Hrolf.

I'm quite happy for you to mock but I suggest you use that time to consider how unrealistic your vision of the future is.

Humans are in perpetual competition with each other and with capitalism and naked aggression, power and wealth ultimately end up in the hand of fewer and fewer people. The big dogs eat all the others.

There is no way we will have a utopia because without their minions, how will the rich and powerful stay that way? They need 90% of the world to remain poor to keep themselves rich.
If ever there came a time when resources became so abundant that they were worthless, the elite would still make us pay just the same.

Consider diamonds. They are abundant and of no real use other than in industry but yet people die mining them in terrible conditions so others can pay a fortune just to wear them.
The elite must make us all 'need' and desire things and work to get them so as to sustain their position. They want to remove obstacles to profit by allowing labour to flow freely across borders. This is not science fiction, this is how the world works.

Do you really want to help speed this process along?

The average European has nothing to gain from globalism.

apart from tons of uneducated men from the Third World as neighbours. Living 50 to a house and driving up property prices.

The average middle aged European woman gains a dozen new suitors to be her boyfriend.

The average 25 year old European woman gets multiple times more attention. Such is globalism.

South London : The fact that at least half the blokes from the third world have abandoned a wife and kids back in their home country is conveniently forgotten.

Here's a little analogy for you: if you had lots of sticks in the garden with string all twisted through them, knotted and doubled back, which would be easier - to cut the string, pull it all out and replace it or to spend several days trying to untie it in one piece and re-roll it into a neat ball?

Life is often like a piece of string!

This is possibly the most facile analogy I’ve ever heard.

We had one vote ever on it and passed it by a very large majority.

Okay, I got the Treaty wrong: the Lisbon Treaty 2009? was the twice one - around only a year between them. I voted no the first time - it was done again. I didn't bother voting as it was clear what the agenda was. Have the referendum until we get the correct result.
Further referendums on europe were then pointless as the no people couldn't be bothered anymore.
I'm interested to see how the Govt will force a European army on Ireland - with neutrality enshrined in the constitution and all that.
Expect an interesting referendum there - or perhaps none at all.
I will admit though, Europe seems to be largely positive for Ireland - except for the years of austerity . Judging by the homeless crisis and the Hard Border threats it seems that Europe is not so enamoured by the Irish anymore.
There is a large difference between Ireland and the UK so far, however, the main one being economic and fiscal. Irealnd has got more back than it has ever put in (although with new accession states this will change). The UK has always paid out more than it received with rebates either given away through concessions or not given for various reasons.
The best bill to the UK from Europe was the bill on the Black economy - funny how the UK was the only country to be full of whore-mongerers and coke heads. Another example of keeping those evil Brits in line. Because Germany and France are a shining example to us all - whereas obviously Britain (perhaps only England) are ingrates.
Despite the fact of having worked all over Europe for 20 years and from personal observation seeing the nationalism in other countries in Europe seem stronger in many other European nations.
No Five Star, Le Front National and only the odd Nazi in England. Loads in Eastern and central Europe - and in Germany and France. But best forget about that as there are clearly going to be no choices for people in these countries: not while there is money to be made anyway.

Isn't it funny how half of Africa is migrating to mainland Europe with the left have welcoming arms (merkel's 1 million migrants) but the draw bridge goes straight up to the UK.

Switzerland’s supreme court has overturned a nationwide referendum for the first time in the country’s modern history, on the grounds that the information given to voters was insufficient.

In a ruling that may have some resonance in Britain, where remain campaigners have long argued that voters in the 2016 Brexit referendum were not adequately informed, the court said “incomplete detail and a lack of transparency” had “violated the freedom of the vote”, which could now be re-run.

For 'information given to voters being insufficient' read 'a load of lies'.......

What has a Swiss court to do with the UK? If you want to play that game then we should be like Chile they overthrew a democratically elected left wing government back in the seventies, should we follow that example as well?

If you believe that the referendum was a fix by all means take your case to the courts and present your evidence. No doubts others will contest that.

It was a fix the electoral commission has already found it so.

Leave campaign appeal has been withdrawn.

The over-spend of dubious money influenced the vote in favour of leave in the last 24 hours.

The same electoral commission who found £80,000 worth of missing receipts from the remain campaign?
